Re: Oppenheimer - My Opinion
I read the book a few years ago and found it to be good, definitely worth reading. The book taught me that, for me at least, the Manhattan Project as a subject is far more interesting than Oppenheimer’s life in general. Since the Manhattan Project isn’t really the focus of the movie, and the movie r...

Yes, I’d take one as is or with a CBBL. I love the Manix, but this might be even better. I’d much prefer it in FRN/FRCP.

If it were me, I'd pick the PE Stretch 2 XL Salt or the PE Catcherman Sprint, which is not yet available.

Those look great!
Flytanium sells copper and brass scales for the Techno 2. I like the looks of copper, but the little booger is already heavy for its size. Still thinking about it...

Re: I got my Techno 2 today!!
I don't know if he's on the forum or not. He has a website; just google xxxadrenalinxxx. He makes screws and spacers for tons of knives, in several colors. Not sure if every color is available for every knife. He's in Australia and pretty much every order is custom-made, so plan for several weeks. H...

FYI xxxAdrenalinxxx makes a set of green-anodized Ti screws that match the spacers perfectly.

Re: What Spyderco Knife Has Surprised You the Most and Why
The Schempp Bowie, but not by much over the Techno 2 and the P.I.T.S folder. I guess I have a thing for collaborations. Back to the Schempp Bowie: I bought it on a lark when I ran across a dynamite closeout deal, mainly because it was just too cheap to pass up. I had never expected to own the model,...

Re: The Catcherman as a filet knife?
Not to hijack the thread, but really wish Lance would weigh in on topics like this. I miss his perspective on processing fish and game, and on all things corrosion. Besides designing the Waterway and Siren, he commissioned some absolutely sick fillet knives by another forum member, possibly Xplorer...

Re: Delica 4 in 2024?
I don't own a Delica, per se, but I should carry my LC200N Salt more than I do. They really are perfect for their size, but if I could only have one it would be the next size up.

Re: The Catcherman as a filet knife?
I have one of the old AUS-8 Catchermen, and I don't rate it highly as a fillet knife. Too short and stiff for the fish I catch. Stiff knives work better for larger fish, and short is almost never good except for really small fish. Sure you can fillet with a Catcherman, but it's more in it's element ...

Re: Can We Get Better Clip Screws?
If I understand your question, the clips would have to be redesigned to accept flathead screws (countersunk), and then said screws would have to be provided. I'm not sure that a stamped clip could be properly countersunk. All of my clips using countersunk or recessed screws are milled. Seem like to...

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?
I'd carry the same knives. Texas has reasonable knife laws, so they're no obstacle, but 4" is about the maximum blade length that's comfortable in my clothing. I usually carry 3-4". Automatics are legal, so that's also not a problem.

Re: EDC recommendation: Native 5 LW – S30V or SPY27?
Both S30V and SPY27 are excellent choices for EDC. If it were me I'd get the SPY, but that's because I have so much S30V already, I think it's cool to own a Spyderco proprietary steel, and I like the color of the scales. The Sharpmaker is an excellent sharpening system, and very easy to use. In my l...

Re: Pacific Salt 1st Gen question
I have one of each as Vivi described above, and I like them all better than any of my Pac Salt 2s. A forum discussion between Vivi and another member, debating which was better, prompted me to try a secondary-mkt OG, and I was immediately hooked. I feel the same about the OG Salts. Wonderful knives....

Re: spy27 military 2
I agree. To me the Military is Spyderco's most iconic knife, and SPY27 is their proprietary steel. Perfect combo! I'd prefer the OG Millie, but that's probably less likely. Which model of the currently available OG’s do you prefer? Of the ones in the catalog, the blurple S110V. The blacked out S30V...
