Re: How do I get over my crippling fear of corrosion?
My thoughts on this have changed a bit over the last 10 years. A decade ago I had no fear over owning a folder in a non stainless tool steel. I am not obsessed with aesthetics and don’t mind a knife developing some staining as long as it continues to function properly. If I had one non stainless EDC...

Re: Stretch XL in SE or PE ?
20220618_014041.jpg Not a good pic, and I had to edit it to fit, but: Salt Pac Salt 2 Jumpmaster 2 All of them cut extremely well. But, nothing cuts like the Jumpmaster. At least nothing I've experienced. Yeah, I have the Jumpmaster 1 and can agree that NOTHING cuts like that knife. It’s a monster!

Re: Stretch XL in SE or PE ?
Hey Marius, I have a little different perspective. I will probably buy the SE as my first Stretch XL but that is because I am waiting for the Salt version to come out. That may be a couple of months out or maybe over a year, who knows? What I would probably do in YOUR shoes though is get the PE VG10...

Re: Stretch XL discussion
Such an awesome knife! I’m really excited to own one…holding out for the Salt though. I’d love a SE Salt model with black handle. Hope that’s going to be an option.

Re: want a fancy chaparral - which scales?
I don’t own any of them right now but I’ve seen and handled them all at Blade Show. The Sun and Moon for me all the way. Enough class for dress clothes but just a beautiful and interesting knife I’d carry anytime.

Re: "As close to perfection as possible" folder from Spyderco?
….The already mentioned Caly 3.5 FRN as well as the Native Chief LW and the Stretch 2 XL SE could very well become perfect Spydies for me too. As could a fictional FRN Siren ... and actually, in the fixed blade realm, the upcoming (?) "More than Enuff". Hey Wartstein, you know, when I fir...

Re: Congratulations Spyderco! American Made Knife of the Year!
i could be wrong, but that kind of variation could easily just be inconsistent grinding or the fact that the military 1 may have been sharpened by its owner a few times. Also could be camera angle or perspective. I had the same initial impression on seeing the photos, but I’ve seen enough times how...

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread
Usually when I see "Lil" in front of any knife name, I immediately lose interest. No so with the Lil Matriarch (as long as it's serrated). Same. Other than for pure self defense I believe the lil Matriarch is a much more useful design than it’s larger counterpart. in the lil matriarch thr...

Re: sal can we get some new Lil Matriarchs?
Hi Matt, I put in the request....as a Salt. sal That’s awesome news! There are a couple of new Spydercos each year that are “must buys” for me. The Stretch XL Salt is in that list. The lil Matriarch Salt will be too! **Here’s to hoping it will be available in a black handled option! Salt version is...

Re: Gravel Bikes
I bought a Specialized Diverge 2 years ago when we were all locked down (like many people obviously). I put about 3500 miles on it the first year but I have slowed right down and haven’t even ridden it now in a month (also probably not an original story, haha). Funny thing is, it came with 700x38 ti...

Re: sal can we get some new Lil Matriarchs?
A black H1 Salt would be a definite buy for me. I am one that always thought the Lil Matriarch made an interesting and useful EDC. I would love a Salt version not just to use for fishing and outdoor activities but because I think H1 would be an ideal steel to use for a knife with such a fine tip.

Re: Fishing knife
I agree with you about the uncoated blade. I try to avoid anything that makes my outdoors knives less visible. For me, it's the Waterway. It's my favorite Spyderco knife. I wish it came with a yellow handle, for the same reason I prefer uncoated blades. I also wish for an SE version, so I could hav...

Re: Confederate flag Spyderco Pride knife, custom order....
For some people it's just a target for their hate of something much bigger than the flag itself. It's an association thing. The swastika means something far bigger than what it's seen as today and is actually a positive icon, aside from that whole Nazi association thing. And as far as the collectab...

Hahaha this gif actually puts a smile on my face! I actually got another native 5 salt in my pocket now so I’m feeling better! Hey Huyfishin, I just found your IG feed and gave you a follow. Stretch XL Salt! Please Sal, can you make this happen?
I am FROTHING for a Salt version of the Stretch XL! Anyone else?? There are threads on this forum from 10 years ago where you can find me begging for a Military Salt, namely a “backlock” Military Salt. You won’t hear me asking for that anymore. The Stretch XL is everything that I could have ever wan...

Hey huyfishin, here’s the link for those floats. A super inexpensive investment that has saved me a lot of tears. Saved my iPhone just last week! https://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-Luxebell-Universal-Floating-Sunglasses/dp/B01KZFLEUY/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=8DWZj&pf_rd_p=5fe95cd4-8512-42fa-bf...
