Considering the only parts that really matter if they corrode are the edge and pivot, both of which are still susceptible in clad models, I'm not sure if I follow you on how it's less to worry about.

For me it's simple...I'm bored with it. It's vanilla ice cream, which I love, but it's boring and I've had it my whole life. When I go to McDonalds they only have vanilla soft serve, but that doesn't stop me from having a cone. However, if I'm going to a place that sells several flavors of ice crea...

I'll tell you that you definitely want a Salt with screw construction. When you get the thing full of sand at the beach, you'll need to take it apart to flush all the sand out. They are ridiculously easy to take apart and reassemble. TedP I think need might be an overstatement there. It might make ...

My phone pocket is almost always empty but for the phone. But the gorilla glass has remained flawless for years.

That said, my watch with sapphire glass had taken way more abuse and that glass is also still flawless.

To the fellow who said glass is harder than steel. Not true. Some steel will scratch some glass. For instance a hardened steel file can scratch some glass.. Anyways awesome stuff! I have sapphire coatings on some of my flashlight lenses, but this looks even better because of the toughness factor. No...

Yeah, the shapton really interest me, but I can get the 220/1000, 4000,8000 Norton for barely more than two grits of shapton(~$135 or so on amazon), and I really would like a wide, yet quality, range for everything from the reprofiling tool steels to maintaining hair whittlers... I also like the &qu...

Just got about $150 in Amazon bucks and really want to step up my bench stone game. So I guess I should take note of this thread... I need to reprofile quite a few knives, the most wear resistant being cpm m4 military, all the way down through s30v, vg10, 8cr, 1095, and get a new edge on cheap kitch...

Dang. What do you cut all day that a sharpener needs to be added to your kit with those four knives, three of which are extremely wear resistant steels?

First was my native, though not sure if it "got me hooked". The reasoning being that it was perfect enough to where I stopped researching new models or anything else. It was just at that perfect level of doing exactly what I needed, and me being content. However, I could not really sharpen...

I have the 3-mil. I like it. Nice and thin. The coating is not nearly as durable as dlc, so I stripped mine.

Yeah it kind of sucks for people (not me) looking for American Made knives. They have one option from Spyderco because the Manix 2 is in stock sometimes. The Para 2 is almost impossible to find. I have one but I have friends that would like one and they can't find them. So, they go buy USA made kni...
