Re: The Wire Clip: express your love, hate, indifference

Small or very lightweight knives = wire clip Large and heavier knives = hourglass clip or equivalent I love the wire clip but it just doesn't suit larger heavier knives, it doesn't clip strong enough and doesn't provide enough traction. It's absolutely perfect for knives like the Dragonfly though. ...

Apart from the cake and what's on your plate what else do you cut at weddings?

Re: PM2 in ZDP-189

I really like ZDP. I know that for many it is yesterday's news but it is one of my favorites. I would enthusiastically buy a ZDP Military. Couldn't agree more Darby! Maybe Mr Glesser will take pity and make us a ZDP-189 Millie with a blade ground from 1/8" stock and green G-10 scales similar t...

Re: Fingerprint problem

Put a satin finish on it. A grit from around 100-200 should work. I have done this many times. I love satin finishes because they are the easiest to maintain. I'm interested in this option since the blade was satin finished originally. Do I use 100-200 grit sandpaper and sand the whole blade lightl...

Re: Suit knife

A Chap' would be best if it was going to feature in the wedding photos but if you just want something to cut the wedding cake I'd prolly go a Temp' 2 only because it's a PITA getting icing out of a Millie's pivot. ;)

Re: Fingerprint problem

What the other boys said!

Or, don't worry about it. It'll settle down with use and the only knife you're likely to own without a scratch or two on the blade is the knife you haven't used yet. :)

Re: Super fine pocket stone?

I think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get the larger super fine stone. If the pocket stone would ever become available I would buy a couple. The 4" size is just soo handy. Maybe you don't have many other options. You can however rub simple blackboard chalk on your fine stone and that may ...

Re: Spyderco Sprig question

I have no experience with Elmax and I've only used my Sprig on fish but only cause I haven't fired a shot since I've owned it. I don't like knives I have to sharpen/touch up every second time I use them so S90V suits me well. :D Mine came blunt and frustrated me a little because it kept glazing the ...

Re: Tip down/Military epiphany

I’m right handed and find tip down is the most convenient and natural way for me to clip a knife. Particularly from my right back pocket where I prefer to carry the blade against the outside seam (as advised when I first joined the forum and bought my first Military). :) I reach for the knife thumb ...
