Topic: Favorite Frame Lock?

The only framelock that I have is the Leafstorm, which I carry every day at work and really like. I have a slight preference for backlocks, but I'm flexible as long as the lock fits the function of the knife well.

You can see the knife that Mr. Bradley used to win the championships here . It looks hollow-ground to me with the spine ridge very high on the blade. I think that the Spyderco GB blade is modeled on the one pictured, especially towards the tip. The Spydie hole required a much taller ridge closer tow...

Another vote for a Delica4. It's a great knife, NKP friendly, and will do whatever he needs. The FRN Lightweight should meet your budget.

My Stretch CF. Not so much for it's appearance, which is very nice, but for how easily and smoothly it cuts. After folks see it slice through something like it was air, they always ask what it is with awe in their voices.

I never had one of the old ones, but the Stretch CF jimping works great for me. It also matches the other newer Spydercos that I have.

Both great knives. The GB fits my hand better, and the CPM-M4 holds an edge for a very long time. It's a great steel for toughness and edge retention. Sage 1 is a nice knife. The blade is almost 1/2" shorter than the GB and overall the knife is significantly lighter. The S30v steel holds a grea...

Put ZDP-189 Manbug on pre-order. Can't resist that. I may be interested in the Ti Chaparral but want to see the Fluted Ti Native5 first. I love my CF Chaparral.

It would seem congruent that a Stretch in Super Blue should be blue, perhaps even a royal blue. That's in FRN, of course.

I don't get the bad ergos stuff. The ergos aren't as nice as a Stretch, but then few are. However, mine works just fine in my medium-sized hands. I haven't had any issues with my Leafstorm in the 3+ years that I've used it.

CPM M4 is incredibly tough and holds a great edge. It's the steel that Gayle Bradley used to win two BladeSports International championships.

I'm guessing that OP has not actually been to and done business with Taiwan. I have. They have top-notch capabilities in a host of areas. Spyderco leadership meets with their overseas providers regularly and ensures the utmost quality from them. I have Spydercos made in Seki, Japan, as well as Taiwa...

Look at the list in my signature and see if you have any of those that will be helpful for comparison. I have pics of my Leafstorm next to my Delica4 and a few others somewhere on the forums here, but not sure where they are or if they were spine shots.

Great pics! I've carried my Leafstorm for work for a couple of years now. I normally prefer a larger knife, but the blade limits at work prevent carrying anything larger. Although I had some concerns before I bought it, the Leafstorm has performed flawlessly and I really like it. As everyone says, i...

There's at least one typo in the catalog, likely as a result of cut and paste from the main catalog. The Manbug ZDP-189 description talks about its VG-10 blade. From the name and the BRG color FRN, I'm assuming that the blade is actually ZDP-189.

Hi Jim, Thanx for the kind comments. I guess it depends on what "end result" you're seeking. I was meeting with one of our Seki makers last week (in Seki) and he started out the meeting by saying, "Meetings with Spyderco are always different. With other customers we talk about price ...
