I prefer 10 - 12 mm thickness. My hands are on the large size and anything thinner is uncomfortable to use. Anything thicker feels like a club when I'm wearing gloves. All of my daily carry favorites seem to be in that 10 - 12 mm range.

I think along the lines of practical, safe, and water resistant. Maybe a sheath out of carbon fiber pattern concealex by Eric Noeldechen (Normark) of On-Scene Tactical? His work with my fixed blades in multi-carry rigs has been outstanding. I'm sure he could do up a Spydie folder m-c rig that would ...

I have to agree with Ferret. The sound of my Chinook locking up is as scary as the sound of locking the action on a loaded Remington 870 shotgun. I have trouble getting the lock on the Chinook to disengage intentionally, too. I can't imagine being able to do it unintentionally.

Ok, ok... Maybe this sounded a lil too crass ... But let me explain, UPS shows up with this knife and a custom knife I had ordered months ago. BOTH knives were in unacceptable condition on receipt, so I guess my major disappointment showed too much in my post. Sorry for allowing my feelings to show ...

Calypso Jr Problem

I just opened the box to receive a new Calypso Jr from a major retailer. It's in deplorable condition, with severe blade play and an off center blade. Should I send this back to the retailer or Spyderco? I had intended it as a gift, but I won't give anyone a knife in this shape.

Don't forget the reinforcement on the handle to better secure the clip. I already got a 2001 Delica from Eastern Mountain Sports and it's AWESOME!

Thanks, Sal!

Well, I just took delivery of my new Military. It's the dam* best knife I've ever had the pleasure to handle. There's nothing about it that isn't perfect for me and my needs. Kudos and Thanks, Sal and crew!

And on the seventh day, Mike smiled and went to play with his toys....lol

Mine was a plain Delica donated by a very fast fleeing felon (he even outran my motorola.) It's since been tot'd to training. I now have several versions of the Delica, a plain police g-10, a rookie g-10, a military, a ladybug II, and will be in hopes that Santa knows what the heck a Chinook is. Oop...

Try this on a carry piece first, but, it may be the cheapest solution... 0000 Grade Steel wool, available at any hardware store. It works for me.

Is this right?

I just received a Dragonfly, and I noticed the blade has some lateral play in the closed position - enough so as to make a clicking noise when it's moved under light pressure. Is this right?

Oregon and Florida ... Those would be the companies without customer support and who hire the Pakistani immigrants who are really used to banging knifeblades out of old blown up military vehicle metals. LOL
