Re: Help me find a discontinued Spyderco...
Country Knives would be my first choice. Blazin Blades has some unusual disco'd knives. Arizona Custom Knives buys and sells secondary Spydies and have a lot of stock turnover.

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive Para Military 2
I think that it looks like the Oregon Ducks. They like DayGlo uniforms....The knife is pretty cool to me just because of the unique color scale but I am not sure how long that my interest would last and I have 20CV. It's hard to judge how you will feel about a knife in hand until you see it and hand...

Re: Any info on why the GB 2 is unobtanium right now?
If you were to CQI a GB2 you would end up making a GB1 :D :D :D Haha yep! :) That's one of the reasons I have 2 GB1s and no GB2. Although the GB2 is a fine knife too and I'll probably have one of as well at some point All of this. Until you hold and use a GB it's hard to understand what an incredib...

Re: Smooth Black G10 slipped
I have one. I gifted a polished S90v flavor to a friend because I kept dropping it and then I got sucked in again to polished G10 by Cruwear. As you describe, the polished G10 is fine as long as there is jimping to hang on to but closing and general handling can be too slick for sweaty or gunked up ...

Re: Going against the grain
That's why I added "depends on the work environment". I also live in the South, but believe me not all areas are the same. ;) Yeah, I visit NC from time to time, and the vibe I get is that the research triangle and some areas around Charlotte are not as gun friendly as other parts of the ...

Re: Going against the grain
... What are your "against the grain" thoughts, beliefs, or preferences? ... I guess the point I'm slowly working towards is this; do carpenters go to hammer forums to geek out over new hammers, nails, levels, or tape measures? Do they want the most extreme materials, with custom colors a...

Re: Going against the grain
Against the grain: I remove pocket clips on all folders , they feel unnatural when using the knife I prefer heavier knives and screw construction handles I dislike the choil heavy designs I am not a fan of microscopic sized knives that many seem to enjoy I prefer liners or titanium scales Where do ...

Re: Going against the grain
Against the grain.....I am not a fan of the PM2 nor the Para 3 and I prefer the liner lock Military and tip down carry. To me they all fall under the header "If it ain't broke don't fix it". The PM2 and Para 3 both feel really awkward in my hand and like part of my knife is missing. In the...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?
I think that it's safe to say that this run disappointed far more loyal Spyderco supporters than it pleased. I never got a even a hint to buy one at MAP even though I was on several sites within seconds of it going live. I would be curious to know how many people on this board actually had the oppor...

Re: Please Help Me Buy a Flashlight!
Fenix PD25 meets your criteria for half your budget, aside from the colored light option. It's about the size of a bic lighter. Has a secure pocket clip. Waterproof. Can be set to low for when its night time at camp. Has four levels of brightness, from low to super tacticool bright. Strobe function...

Re: Please Help Me Buy a Flashlight!
For hiking/camping, I would highly recommend some type of headlamp. I have many flashlights, but the one that I always end up using the most is an inexpensive, base-model Petzl Tikka headlamp. I think I paid ~ $30 for it three or four years ago. Very useful, hands-free , simple on-off, bright enoug...

Please Help Me Buy a Flashlight!
I need a new flashlight but there are so many models and varieties available that I am over-whelmed. I would like something that would make a great light camping/hiking light, preferably with a blue or red filter option to help with night vision. Reliability and battery life are more important to me...

Re: P'Kal vs. Yojimbo vs. Chinook
I love my Yojimbo as a utility knife and it has absolutely amazing ergos BUT as a completely untrained SD specialist I would want a Civilian in my hand in a real life situation that would be desperate enough to need a knife. But I really agree with the run first mentality.
