In general I find that the serrated knives don't do as well in the meat tests as their brother PE models...that being said the Golden Style as opposed to the seki-style get caught up less on the denin, thus cutting a little better... all and all there really isn't much difference though...Good Ques...

Doc. question from another thread... (http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25264)
Have you noticed a difference in your tests between the golden-style rounded serrations and the more pointy seki-style ones?

You I think you're right, that's the only one that springs to mind though. I would be most interested to see the two of them compared in a scientific test ;) Anyone?

I have to say I prefer the pointier VG-10 serrations. I wonder if it makes a difference in meat tests, there aren't 2 versions of the same knife with different serration patterns are there?

Easy, the yojimbo, it came in a package with the spyker, I wasn't sure I'd like the yo, it looked a bit crazy. Now I'm happy to say it displaced the civilian as my favourite :spyder: The spyker turned out to be a safe queen :o

That's interesting, I do mine a little differently, I'll try to get some pics up... Ok here's my 2 zip-tied knives, a kerambit and a civilian. Some knives are naturally suited to waving, others are naturally not, I believe it's impossible to zip-tie wave a yojimbo for instance. http://img329.imagesh...

I find myself doing it all the time too, often I'm chatting to someone and I notice they are looking at me funny, then I realise I'm playing with a :spyder: on autopilot.

Sorry, I must confess I haven't fully read this thread due to time constraints but in reply to the initial question, I would suggest the yojimbo or the waved D4/E4s, currently the waved E4s and D4s are the fastest drawing spydercos on offer IMO (at least until the p'kal is released) and the yojimbo ...

Observation... The Edge-U-cation picture on page 44/45 is really cool.
It would be even cooler if they offered it as a poster ;)

1)Yojimbo - Very close to my idea of a perfect knife. Pure function.
2)PE CF Civilian - Most beautiful spyderco IMO.
3)PE CF Harpy - 2nd most beautiful spyderco IMO.
4)UKPK - Awesome.
5)Kumo - Best spyderco FB IMO.

Hmmm, I'd always wondered about the possibility of converting a back lock to a slipjoint, I had an old delica that broke, that worked a bit like a slipjoint, you could close it with pressure but it was alot easier if you disengaged the "lock". I wonder if a broken lock knife would count as...
