Wire clip is the best clip Spyderco makes, imo. Happy to see it on this!

Great news! This will be my only Spyderco purchase of the year. Hopefully they are out and in stock at Blade West!

That's pretty much where I am this year...unless some surprise comes up that I just have to have.

Re: Stonewashed Blade

I like the ground/satin finish, it adds character. Stonewashing just erases or hides it. If stonewash is what the N5 maxamet blade is, I prefer it to all other finishes. You can put a satin finish on any blade in 10 minutes with sandpaper and a flat surface. The problem with that is, it will look li...

If you can appreciate better materials, fit and finish go with the CF Chap, you won't regret it.

Re: Native 5 s90v vs Native 5 s110v vs Sage 5

Welcome to the forum! I have both the Fluted CF Native and the Sage 5 and either one would be an excellent choice. The liner-less fluted CF Native is a beautiful knife. But, I have to second what wrdwrgth said about sharpening. I found myself on quite a leaning curve the first time I went to sharpen...

Really looking forward to this one. Here's the original concept thread from Australian Blade Forums, where Sal initiated the wide ranging discussion about what features people would want in an Australian specific model. https://www.australianbladeforums.com/vb4/spyderco-knife-discussion/32112-dedic...

Re: I'm confused

I mean, I guess it could help with pulling the knife from your pocket, but the side effects have to be severe! Imagine laying down on the couch with that thing in your pocket? Or bumping into a wall? Yeehooooow! I suppose it would also promote IWB carry. I can't believe it but there are five ...

Re: 2018 Alistair Phillips!

I'd like to echo MichaelScott's post. I, too, was totally ready to immediately buy a Phillips Redback until I got to the specs in Mr. Blonde's much anticipated Amsterdam Show post. I live in CA (Los Angeles) where the folder carry limit is 3". How disappointed am I? This Phillips has everythin...

I cant wait for this one! Love the blade shape, sleekness of the handle, wire clip and Taichung fit & finish. Here are a couple other threads regarding it, kind of cool to see how it has evolved. //forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=70631&hilit=alistair+phillips http://knifenews.com/...

Re: Chaparral Handle Materials

Hi Attila, Right now, my thoughts are towards a new stabilized wood that we're testing. If it works in Golden, then we'll try some Chaparral's. Our success rate for natural woods (not pakkawood) has been poor. Woods used in a humid climate, and then shipped to a dry climate have resulted in crackin...

Stabilized Snakewood, Micarta (of any kind), or bronze lightning strike carbon fiber would be awesome.

That would be really nice, or something like cocobolo.

Re: First Knife of 2018

Hello. I bought my first knife in 2018. It’s mantra. Anybody can help me how can I protect the m4 blade? Thank you I've been using a product called Corrosion X on my GB2 and Mantra. So far it's been working pretty well. You might not want to use it if you use your knife for food prep though. Just a...

Re: First Knife of 2018

Technically my first knife of 2018 was a BK7, but my first Spydie is this beautiful PITS. Lighter and a little smaller than I imagined, but the ergos are incredible. This knife looks, feels, and handles like a dream. Very thin behind the edge, and the "lock" inspires a different kind of c...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report

RWL34 or CPM154 would be great, inline with his custom versions and already used in Taiwan production (Lil Nilakka & Darn Dao). S30V is no slouch but variety is the spice of life and all that. :) I had to do a little reading on RWL34 and CPM154. It sounds like good stuff, I'd love to give it a ...
