- corkscrews are bullcrap-tools. let's say you do happen to have a wine-bottle, and let's say you do want to drink wine....> just cut the cork short and push the rest of it in the bottle and drink your wine.....
Denn, your cork description gives away your taste in wine....

JD, I have read through "An Axe to Grind" (available here) but have not seen the videos--what is Bernie's favorite axe? I wouldn't mind a new toy to play with this winter....

Ken, my biggest Gerber is the Camp axe but they make a 28" model that is likely just as functional as the smaller models... that said, in my mind it would be worth the extra $25- or so to upgrade to a Gransfors axe if you are serious about chopping some wood.

My favorite SAK by far is the Hunter --locking main blade, most of the tools actually serve some purpose (lets face it, the pliers on a SAK ain't much good when you NEED a pliers), not too bulky to carry in a pants pocket, plus its available in two colors. I seldom carry one anymore but it still has...

Gransfors Bruks is kinda the gold standard of axes. Light, well-balanced, they are wonderful tools.

For 'beaters', I have a couple Gerber axes that are very durable and take an edge well.

i reassembled the knife, using a technique i haven't seen posted; MacTech, take a look at post #6 in STR's linked thread: "the easiest way to reassemble one of the 4's is by assembling the entire knife EXCEPT FOR THE LOCK." There is really no reason to try to wrangle the blade and washers...

In my experience, the easiest way to reassemble one of the 4's is by assembling the entire knife EXCEPT FOR THE LOCK. No messing with the back spacer, no fiddling with washers, just put a little extra tension on the blade (via the pivot screw) so it isn't flopping around, slide the lock into positio...

The Wave is what led me to the Endura--I love my WD4 but the blade seems just a bit short (I don't notice this with the standard (un-Waved) Delica, though), whereas the WE4 seems 'just right'. And I believe there is a 'belt-fed' Speed Dialer in my future. While I generally don't have much use for sh...

JMO but the more you learn about his military career the less likely you may be to refer to him as a "brave fighter"--seems to me he has a lot in common with GW, only JFK is a bit slicker....

Dogrunner, again likely out of your price range, but the S&W 329 is a super little bear gun--4" barrel, 26 oz, and kicks like an angry mule with heavy bullets and those wood grips... but with the hogue grips and 255-grain hard casts (designed specifically for this gun by Buffalo Bore ) ther...

then again these imperfections might encourage you to actually use the knife more and therein lies the "secrets of the Spyderaddiction.".... This certainly rings true... I might be tempted to let my Delica sit in drawer were it not for the ever-so-faint dimpling (for lack of a better term...

I hope I am not out of line but my benchmark for a folding hunter is Gerber's drop-point Gator--the kraton scales fill the hand and are plenty grippy, the wide chord ATS-34/154cm blade holds an edge well and has plenty of belly, and the lock is situated mid-grip so it falls naturally under the hollo...
