Re: Do you hoard your Spydercos?

On the broader subject, I've said this before on other fora: the key difference between a collection (with it's positive tone) and a hoard (with it's negative tone) is not in the amount of things or stuff that you have:- A collection is when you have a very good idea of what you have- for example, ...

Re: Do you hoard your Spydercos?

The first time I bought a duplicate it was accidental (I forgot I had already ordered one from a different vendor). But having had a scare where I couldn't find a special Sprint for awhile and fearing I would not ever be able to have that one again, it got to where I sometimes order 2 of the same kn...

Re: Mid-Year Product Guide Discussion

How do you handle the pre-release time interval, when one of these models goes onto your *must have* list? 1- visit forum regularly 2- rely on in-stock email update (National Knife) 3- pre-order, i.e. KnifeCenter 4- Pre-order, sometimes from more than one store, visit forum regularly, bookmark ever...

Re: Native 5 Blurple G10 S110V C41GPDBL5 is dropping!

Mine arrived in the mail yesterday. Feels plenty sharp, shaves easily, but I haven't had time to do much more than glance at it. I would like to go over it with the SharpMaker first. Didn't put it in my pocket yet, for some reason one of my fluted Ti Native 5's decided it was time to be carried :) a...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

I too have a Manbug in HAP40 on the way, as well as a K11P Kitchen Cook's Knife - why, I don't know, I hardly ever cook and already have too many unused nice kitchen knives :D.

Re: Native 5 Blurple G10 S110V C41GPDBL5 is dropping!

According to USPS tracking, mine arrived at my mailbox about 30 minutes after I left for work this morning. Yeah, I have more Natives than I can count, and I haven't carried them all that much recently, but I like them enough I didn't want to have a "hole" in the lineup, didn't want to mis...

KnifeWorks Exclusive Military Green G10/CTS204P now available. Let the rush begin... :D KW site is slow, but functioning. Limit of 3 per customer. I only ordered 2. Plus a blurple G01 Native 5 in S110V, I couldn't remember whether these were already available (or if I already bought one) so I bought...

Thanks guys. I didn't buy any new Spydies for my birthday, but I did receive 5 new ones in the mail a week or two ago so I guess that is close enough :).

Re: Lil Lum...Lil Lum...

Mine was in the mailbox when I got home today. The box it comes in is the same size as the box my HAP40 Ladybug came in (same shipment). So it is quite small. Here's a poor cell phone pic of it next to my small and large Lums, and a Dragonfly. http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h400/rodloos/2016042...

Re: Forum down every night!!!

I've seen it happen frequently (midnight Central time). It appears there is some chron job (scheduled task) that kicks off at that time. I can be browsing the forum, then right at midnight central time any forum message I try to load, it just doesn't respond. I think I posted about it once before, a...

Re: America and Taiwan have something in common--Fire Ants!

Are these ants the same as the izula ant? Larry, yes bullet ant is also known as the Isula in Spanish (and I guess for marketing reasons ESEE spells their knife named after the ant with a "Z" - Izula). I grew up in Peru. When the rainy season came and flooded out the fireants, they surviv...

Re: Spyderco Myrtle (C194CFTIP)

Handled a Myrtle for the first time today - what a beautiful piece of cutlery. I totally agree with those who say that it has a very custom look and the blade shape is just out of this world. The marbled carbon fiber is also very beautiful. Unfortunately the example in the shop had an impossibly st...

Re: Lil Lum...Lil Lum...

I like my other Lum's enough that I went ahead and ordered this one. GP Knives was out, but New Graham and Cutlery Shoppe had them available. I don't have all of the Lum's, but have the small and large Chinese folders, Lum Tanto, and both burgundy and green fixed blade Lum's. I went ahead and ordere...

Re: Hiker Knife

I'm not so sure you'll find a consensus on your desired qualities (I admit I am not a "hiker" though). Might depend on whether one is hunting at the same time? (More belly on the blade for skinning etc?) Even though I have plenty of machetes and large knives such as ESEE Junglas, Hossam Fo...

Re: What was your first computer?

Bought my first computer in 1979, an Ohio Scientific C1P, paid extra to double the memory from 4K to 8K! No Floppy or hard drive, you were supposed to use a cassette tape recorder to save data, though it wasn't very reliable. Though my first programmable device was a Texas Instruments TI88 purchased...

Re: Navaja Ratchet Poll

Mine isn't a safe queen, but it doesn't see a huge amount of use either. Being aware that some owners had issues with the ratchet spring, I have tried not to over-do the mindless flicking, but I do love the sound of it :D.

My HAP40 Ladybug is on its way from KW as well, along with an Orange Rock Salt.

I need more pockets (not that a Rock Salt would fit, LOL).

Orange Rock Salt, and a Hap40 Ladybug on the way from Louisiana. I have a Schempp Rock, but never did get an original Rock Salt, so I'm glad to be able to get one of the new Sprint run ones.

Re: Tell me why I need a Sebenza

I have a large Sebenza which I won in a KnifeRights drawing, but it resides in the safe. I've fondled it a bit, and it *does* feel well-made, but I really prefer Spydie-holes to thumb-studs. So I guess any of the Spydies I happen to be carrying could be said to have kicked the Sebenza out of my pock...
