Re: Considering collecting M.Strider knives
I've been knife (and gun) collecting for a long time. My favorite handguns are HK's, Colts, and Berettas. As knives go, I like Spydercos, Benchmades, and Cold Steel. I've ordered a Strider SnG (New from an ebay seller specializing in high ends). I'm thinking of getting an SMF performance with full ...

Re: KnifeJoy Manix 2 Disappointment
So I got my KnifeJoy exclusive Manix 2 in neon green/20CV yesterday and I gotta say I was highly disappointed. I was expecting the bright neon green (almost yellow) that they have pasted all over their site and the knife I received was a kermit the frog green . The other problem I had is that it wa...

Re: Dream Salt Knives
A Province in Magnacut would be great; however a Stretch XL salt would be stupidly practical.
EDIT: Someone mentioned a salt Manix XL lightweight. I thought would be an awesome knife.

Re: What are your favorite large spyderco folders?
I personally don’t consider a knife to be “large“ unless it has about a four inch blade; there are exceptions though. I voted Stretch 2 XL & other because Manix 2 XL just wasn’t an option. I think the Caribbean should have been a choice as well but you can’t list them all. I’ve only held a Milit...

Re: Spyderco for steak
Any time I need a knife while using paper plates I use my Pacific Salt LC200N. The only thing is that I have to use two plates so I don’t cut through them lol

Re: Are there any Spyderco knives with convex edges?
Those BRK are some really nice looking blade$ I’ve looked many times and came close to putting a deposit on a custom one last year. So many configurations! The main thing that held me back is the fact that I have no idea how to sharpen a convex grind lol. Three options: - Strop w/compound - Sandpap...

Re: "hard use"
... Back in May 2022 I bought the Enuff leaf shape. Honestly I really didn’t expect to be impressed with this knife, I just wanted a smaller fixed blade with a low intimidation factor to use at work. Wow I completely underestimated the Enuff. I could probably go on and on about how great the Enuff ...

Re: Looking to get my first Spyderco
Hey guys! This is my first post here and I'm looking to get my first Spyderco. Preferably a one and done option for now before I inevitably catch the bug and spiral into a collection, as I can tell already it's not hard to fall into lol! I'm getting YouTube review fatigue 😵 so I figured I'd hop on ...

Re: "hard use"
I tend to take it easy on my folding Spyderco knives these days. I still have 3 folders that are my most used and I don’t hesitate to be a little rough with them but I’m still careful not to hurt them. I’m a little paranoid about damaging them since prices have gotten so high. If I was forced to har...

Re: Unnecessary (yet completely necessary) knife use
Any type of bagged snack that most people would pull apart at the top, I cut open . I couldn't tell you how many bags of chips have ripped down the side on me and this basically prevents it from happening. I cut open my bags of coffee this way too. Lots of manicure action. Nothing cuts gift wrap be...

Re: Sharpening Neglected Knives
Wow, 50 grit, that ought to do some serious work! I've been thinking about grabbing some 80 grit sandpaper to see what that does. Check this out. It was a convex grind but very dull and I honestly have no idea how to sharpen a convex grind. So I re-profiled the edge to 40°. It’s not perfect but you...

Re: Sharpening Neglected Knives
Cheap thick hardened stainless will ruin your stones I have heard this before, but I am pretty curious how that is possible? I would never have thought that a cheap steel had any way of harming stones. I’m going to start by saying I’m no sharpening expert. I think cheap steel may clog the stones. B...

I keep a CaraCara2 in the center console of my truck. Not for emergencies or anything… just an inexpensive effective backup that I won’t be heart broken about if it’s stolen.
