I hope Cliff doesn't mind me posting a picture of his Junglas, but this is what popped into my head when I saw this thread. He's got it ground thinnest towards the handle, thickest in the middle, and ground in-between up near the tip. The idea being different parts of the blade do different kinds of...

Thanks you guys, i somewhat got it sharp, i did the sharpie trick and saw that it wasnt touching when i ran the knife straight up and down, on 30 degrees, so i tilted the knife so it would be at a sharper angle. Then it started to sharpen, but still i cant get the bottom portion of the blade razor ...

I tried to swap the clip on my orange sprint dodo with 2 different low ride clips. It gave me a **** of a time. I ended up putting the original clip back on.

The action is very smooth and the blade is only slightly off-center, but I think that's due two brass washers on one side of the pivot pin and only one on the other side. One of mine is a little off center, but I believe it is the hollow grind that's slightly off. Also, it looks like there are two ...

QUOTED FROM THE SPYDERCO STORY: The name Spyderco and the mascot spider that became embodied in the company's logo were derived from the word "spyder"which represented two things: the spider like shape of the Portable Hand and the designation some European auto makers gave to high-performa...

I carried one of the blue ones on and off for years. Youtube video link of a video I made comparing the two: http://youtu.be/iKnS5ExbZwc It is a very specialized knife in my experience. Its a box cutter, tape cutter. It's not a wood working knife or a food prep knife. The new orange one definitely f...

I have ~ 1.5 dozen P2s in various versions. 1. Rare but not unheard of (none of mine). 2. Not unless extreme. 3 Yes, and/or tightening the stop pin screws (both sides). If you've got 18 para2s, you must have at least one grey one, none of which have blade-play per your statement. I've got 3 para2s ...

1. I have 6 of them, half of which have noticeable blade-play. I consider all of them acceptable. 2. I tried sending one in for blade-play and the lock sticking. It came back with less blade play, and the lock stuck less. 3. Sometimes, but usually not. EDIT: I should qualify the above statement by m...

I would be very interested to hear the reasoning behind the use of S30V on this knife. It seems a carbon steel would work very well, and 3V would have been my first choice.
Maybe there is something I'm missing here....
Maybe sal will give us some insight into this decision.... please!

Angus,

The tip of the blue one got worn down from sharpening. It used to be just as pointy as the orange one.

I got mine today. It is a definite improvement over the blue one I've got. I'll do a comparison when I can compare them side by side. One obvious upgrade on the orange one is the phosphor bronze washers, which the blue one didn't have.
