Re: Fixed blade users - tell me how you carry and stuff
I made leather sheaths for my Mules and carry them horizontal on my weak side, handle toward midline. Even with the relatively thick handles that I put on my Mules, I'm comfortable whether sitting, standing, squatting, etc. I have a custom roughly the size of the Enuff that I made a minimalistic kyd...

Re: Worst Spyderco Designs?
Well, since "worst" is totally in the eye of the beholder, I'll throw in my most disappointing design, ignoring all the non-starters. And it's not a bad design by any means. In fact, I'll probably get a ration for busting on it. I lusted after one for years, holding out for Super Blue. On ...

Massdrop appears to be conforming to MAP
The first Spyderco in a long time just went up ... 40% off as the lowest price. Bummer. With the killer deal on the Memory and the good deal on the Positron after the 1st of the year I had hopes that with their business model they might only have to offer the MAP price for the first buy in. I'm goin...

Regretted not getting one before. Now there are so many fakes that I'm afraid of the secondary market.

Re: Spyderchef size??
I love the shape for the kitchen. That upswept blade is going to work a treat. I reground one of my Mule handles, losing the guard and taking so much steel off the edge side of the handle that it got a half inch shorter. It's still lousy as a kitchen knife because of the blade/handle angle. If I had...

I love the wire clip on my Des Horn. On my Assist 2? Not so much. They have their place.

Re: Spyderco C204GP Pattada, Any interest?
I like the original design quite a bit. The interpretation not so much. The hump in the blade spine to make room for the hole doesn't float my boat. I'd rather have a 1mm hole for trademark sake and a nail nick.

Re: Jaylo's Amsterdam Meet 2016 Report- Notes and random musings
. Bummed about the D'Alarra having flat handles, but still interested in this one. I got myself one of the originals and fell in love with that voluptuous handle. Me too. I wish they'd just reuse the molds and upgrade the blade. I'll take voluptuous(nice word!) FRN over flat G10 any day of the week...

MT01 has smaller holes. MT02 and on have the larger holes which fit the Halpern scales.

Re: Spyderco's Answer To The Buck Model 110?
The thing I love about the Buck 110 is the sharp tip. You don't get that with a drop point or leaf shape. I'm liking Deacon's answer.
Edited to add that the Chinook might make a decent 110 substitute.

Re: Local Cutlery Store..Good and Bad
A local gun shop has a huge selection of Spyderco. The downside is that the clerks act like arrogant dicks and the shop charges full MSRP. I haven't been there in a couple years. I don't mind paying a bit extra for good service, but paying almost double to be treated like trash doesn't work for me. ...

Re: Anyone Else Like Mules?
The size is spot on. I like the shape OK, but if I were I doing it, I'd lose the little guard thingy and straighten the handle out with respect to the blade and make it more like a Puukko.

Re: You awake one morning and all of your Spyderco knives are gone.
A winning bet on red only doubles your money ... so you're going to have to do it a few times. Pick a number and win, and you end up with 36 times your bet.. That's more like it.SpyderNut wrote:However, I would personally take the $300 and bet it all on red. After winning the jack-pot...

That's a nice looking little knife. I like very deep choils or none at all. Nothing in between. This works. I like the oval shape when it's closed, too. Good job.

Re: BladeHQ All Spyderco Lock Test
What an utterly worthless test. Unless you're doing MBC, all the lock really does is keep the knife from closing on your fingers if you screw up. Screwing up so badly as to break a well-designed lock? Ain't ever gonna happen ...
