You are correct Yab. The Calypso was the folder. The Morran fixed blade was the first knife Spyderco made with VG-10. The Jr. is my favorite of the Calypso line. I carry my black ZDP model when not at work. The thick handle ,spine to choil, fits my hand better, and I like the spine swedge. The 3.5 i...

I would like to see the next Caly 4.0 be made in the US or Taiwan. Japan has some great steels, and with the 3 and the 3.5 we can experience them. But I think it would be a great idea to open the Caly design up to other steels in a locking design. Any thoughts guys?dwong wrote:nice, caly 4.0 please :P

Like this? http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j94/dm_gangl/DSC02417.jpg Use Mustard. There are several advantages to using mustard. Since its thick its easier to use on the blade without getting any on the edge which will dull the knife. You also get different colors which IMO is nicer looking then s...

If we are talking survival. I want a comfortable handle, and edge retention. For something like bushcraft its a different story. But Im lost in the wilderness and am trying to make it through the night/few days. I would go for M4 PM2 or Gayle Bradley. Very comfortable handle, strong lock, open const...

I always ask what they are cutting and cut it for them. A co-worker asked me to sharpen the knife on his leatherman wave. The edge was completely destroyed. I asked what happened. He lent the knife to another coworker to cut some cardboard. He put the cardboard sheet on the concrete floor and dragge...
