Re: Have you found "the one?"
Ha, I agree with this.
The one knife? No, but many come close, and are "the one" for a while.
But it's a Spyderco for sure.

Re: Vehicle knife
For a vehicle knife, the primary use case I consider is to cut yourself out of tangled and or broken seatbelts, should the car flip over, or catch on fire, or get caught in a flood: and therefore some kind of serrated sheepsfoot blade is best (so you can cut the seatbelts without injuring yourself)....

I think I uploaded this to your website correctly, but there was no "submit" button and the website gave me a warning about "unsaved data" when I tried to navigate away from the page, so... :/ Please let me know if there are any problems on that end and I can resubmit. Thanks! :b...

Re: Switchblades!
I have a Microtech Ultratech, nice little OTF switchblade. Don't carry it much because the switch is stiff, and hard for me to operate one-handed (which defeats much of the purpose of a switchblade), and also I prefer knives with a negative blade angle and more ergonomic handles. But it's still supe...

Re: Spyderco knives that you have gifted - any extra info welcome. To whom, why, and how did it hold up?
Gave a Brouwer to my dad because the ergonomics didn't work for me. He carries it whenever he wants to have a knife available but doesn't want to risk damaging/losing his fancy older Benchmade. He's not much of a knife guy, but the knife is definitely getting more appreciation from him than it would...

Re: Amalgam Pictures !
Already posted this in the choil discussion thread, but I feel it should be copied here as well, for anyone scrolling this thread and thinking of buying an Amalgam. A really well-done choil that I actually like is the choil on the Amalgam. If you haven't yet had the joy of encountering an Amalgam in...

Very nice to see another Rescue! I have this knife's slightly larger sibling, a fantastic tool for everything from yardwork to food prep.akapennypincher wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 8:28 pm219AF750-D530-4472-B9AC-8971F208759D.jpeg

Re: Do we really need a finger choil ?
https://i.postimg.cc/nz5k8sp6/IMG-20220822-034543-HDR.jpg They already make a standard, big, lightweight knife with max edge length and no choil . The Resilience is exactly that. I dismissed it for a while because eww china / 8cr. but these days I would rather carry one over any Police or Military ...

Re: Do we really need a finger choil ?
I have had and enjoyed knives both with and without finger choils. These days I prefer knives without, because I like the better edge-to-handle ratio that is made possible when there's no choil. However, I'm not bothered that many of Spyderco's models have choils; they definitely have a place and va...
