Cooler weather...

...means I get to back to wearing my Dragonfly2 as my pajamas knife.

Summer nights are rough. I like to keep a knife around, but clipping to the waistband of my undies seems like a bridge too far.

Re: Combo Comp/Linerlock

The problem with the button comp lock is that you have to have a choil or other cutout at the base of the blade to make room for the button. If instead the comp lock were implemented as faux liner lock, that button cutout wouldn't need to be there.

Re: Military with compression lock

I'd also vote for "Para 4" for this idea and I even think it would sell better than "Military 2". At this point I think the Para name is practically a guaranteed hit. Everyone who wants a CL version of the Military will get it and the liner lock Military loyal will be happy. I t...

I wonder how affordable MC will be? I think it will be closer to the S110V offerings than S45VN

There is no reason for it to be expensive, IIRC Larrin wrote something to this effect.
Yeah, the magic isn't in the ingredients like it is with S110V. It's in the proportions.

Re: Loss of sharp...over time?

I don't think @Deadboxhero has enough information to state conclusively that it's a burr. But I do think that the best guess is that it wasn't all the way sharp; we're probably just looking at a situation where OP thought he was putting away a sharp knife but wasn't.

Re: Pound for pound the highest performing Spyderco is...

I have the manbug salt but yes. It would be the number one spyderco I would recommend to people who dont care about knives at all. It will cut anything. Its rustproof. Its tough as nails. It can go indefinitely with zero maintenance. You could arguably get away with never sharpening it. Small. Ligh...

It's probably needed to stop delamination.

I want to see some new designs.
Well, the world's knife designers are coming off a year where they had a lot of alone time to make new designs, so I would guess we'll start seeing the fruits of their labors soon, both in Spyderco Reveals and elsewhere.

Re: Magna Cut Above

One of my favorite things happening with this steel is how people seem to finally be focusing on how well rounded a steel can be and not just on edge retention alone. It feels like the community has been focused solely on edge retention for a very long time now, it's refreshing to see maybe a shift...

This lil guy needs to go back to regular production. The blade shape hugs your finger and jimping on the tip is very functional. I should have bought a spare.....its my first gitd knife too and I really dig it!.....Sal this needs to be back in production period! I'm not generally big into knives wi...

Re: SMKW Spyderco Exclusive?

I can't knock the PM2 runs. It makes sense from the point of view of the dealer, because I have trouble remembering the last PM2 run that didn't sell out fast. It makes sense to people who haven't bought a PM2 yet, but keep hearing about it. And it makes sense to people who try to buy every PM2 they...

Re: Knife Joker GITD Jester 20CV!!

The high wear resistance steels go forever on slicing tasks, but potentially chip when you lean on the edge. So what could be a better platform than a knife that you can't really lean into? With 20CV in a Jester, I figure I'll be able to cut paper, cardboard and twine more or less forever.

Re: Affording the Necessary Stones for Super Steels

I've never regretted any of the money I've spent on diamond stones. For me, the extravagant hardness is almost beside the point. What I'm really getting with diamond stones is long-term flatness and most importantly, zero glazing . If a bunch of swarf gets into an oilstone it will slow the **** out ...

I must be misunderstanding, OP.

Are you saying that you bought a new, defective Para 3 LW, and that in lieu of a replacement, Spyderco only offered you a discount on a second purchase?
