Re: Chaparral
Hi Wrdwrght, Interesting observation. Yes, the market has spoketh, and we work for you. The Kopa, Sage and Chaparral series were all ideas of mine that I thought might have had longer term success. The Kopa series ran into problems with the maker not being confident to use all of the handle material...

Re: Roadie: Tell Me About This Knife
I have two, but I seldom use them. They are small knives, and I have size XXL hands, so I have a bit of trouble using them. They are non-locking and not pointed since they were designed for airline travel when the FAA was considering lifting the ban. They are nice little cutters for routine tasks. ...

Re: The best "worst" serrated knives I have ever owned.
Hey Mike, Eric wanted to try a more common serration on the Z-Cut models because of whom he is competing against. Jay is welcome to join and converse here, but he will need to maintain our friendly platform. Maybe he's not been able to converse on forums before, but I do believe he will find folks h...

We're all good here. Time to move on. We generally don't close treads here. The folks that hang here generally are very civil.

Re: Chaparral
Hi Warstein, Regarding the future of models, my crystal ball needs glasses. The success of a model, to keep it in the line, is a matter of demand. There are a few exceptions made for law enforcement, but in general, if the market does not want it enough to support the inventory, then it has to go. T...

Re: Chaparral
I had hoped that the Chaparral project would hang in there more effectively. When we disco'd the Titanium versions, which I thought were very special, I realized the market wouldn't support the model. We'll continue to offer different handles as unique materials become available. I would also guess ...

Thanx much for sharing your thoughts. I also got a bunch of info from Brian H. Seems to be pretty controversial. I guess I'll watch the thread.

Thanx Steeltoes,

Hey Mike, I am looking forward to hearing Jay Ward's opinions, even though you have said that he doesn't like me or Spyderco. I have already been impressed with some of the results our forumites have shared here. They were able to get better results that we have, so it's win/win for the use of and m...

Re: The best "worst" serrated knives I have ever owned.
Hey, Mike, No problem. But you did come on to my forum and tell me that I have the worst serrations? I have been studying and promoting serrated edges for the past 45 years. I believe, and it is just my opinion, but I believe that I have the best solution for maintaining serrated edges and getting t...

Re: MT40P – HIC Mule Team Dropping Soon!
Hi Mike, We purchased our CATRA more than 20 year ago and it gets constant use. I personally went to Sheffield and worked with the company since. We have rebuilt it twice, changed our test mules once and retested everything a second time with the new test mules. I would say that we have far more expe...
