Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

S45VN is a steel that was developed by one of their metallurgists (Frank) as an improvement to S35VN. More incremental than revolutionary, but it did test well and we're working with it. sal This is from the thread by Larrin on S45VN. You just beat me to the punch, Doc Dan! I was just now coming he...

Re: New Steel – Crucible S45VN

So improved corrosion resistance, and toughness and edge retention in between s30v and s35vn. But what I find interesting is the higher possible working hardness. Run it around 63 and it may be worth the fuss, no? You're right there, Baron Mind. And an important point you make too, about the hardne...

Re: Three Rivers Manufacturing Neutron

Hi Rick. It really is a great knife! Marianne will keep you up to date, via email. On when to expect your number to come up. I got one of the first ones, and thought it was very well made. Though after handling it for a few minutes. I realized that it was just going to be too small for me. So I set ...

I noticed that too! Although in her defense she might have reached the depth of her pocket. Women's jeans have tiny pockets compared to men's jeans. I'm sure you're probably right. I didn't think of that. This is the biggest knife, in this group shot. I also didn't know, just how deep my men's jean...

I am all in, for some Rex 45 in a Manix 2! Of course I have burnt orange in my head as well. :D That's perfectly fine. This recent Micarta, would also be wonderful. I also feel some K390 should be coming our way, in a Manix 2. Gotta be, right? I bought all of the earlier Rex 45 knives, just for the ...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

Have any of y'all --who have one of these-- oiled the micarta yet? If so, curious how much it darkens. Thanks. A guy posted a pic on the Facebook page and said he oiled it, it's a pretty drastic change. It's like a dark peanut butter. I rather like the light color and soft feel of it dry. I'm looki...

Re: Spyderco 2019 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

Has there been any word of DLT releasing another run of the red G-10 20CV Manix 2? I thought I remembered mention of it soon after the original release, but it doesn't seem likely with all the new releases coming out these days. I remember reading DLT saying that too, last year. And, it does take a...

I would also love to see more of this exact Micarta.
On the Manix 2 would be wonderful, but it's already had the Cruwear treatment. How about having this scale material on a Manix 2 in K390, or Rex 45? The Manix 2 is still owed that steel treatment.
