The main concern with either lock is to make sure that the lock gets engaged well. In my experience, that is the only potential issue with a compression lock - it can jam with lint more easily than a liner lock.

anybody know the specs? In particular the weight and lengths (handle, blade, OAL). I was weak and had to choose three, in order of excitement:
Ed Schempp Balance - it looks goofy and I prefer G10, but I like small, ergonomic knives
Junior - unless this knife is unduly heavy, I see this being my new "big folder"
Caly 3.5 - A new heir of the Calypso bloodline

Zip ties work great for a Caly3. I usually carry either a Caly3 or a UKPK. If I'm going to be doing a lot of heavy/outdoor/construction-type work, I'll put a zip tie on the Spyder hole for a quick draw.
