The Sabre group seems perpendicular to your Palm and thus is weaker in my opinion also some blades like a hawksbill seem naturally made for the Filipino grip. With a hawkbill, I've noticed that if you use a saber grip but don't bend your wrist forward, (until you're about to make the cut and you sn...

I remember last winter when the local news channels did a story on UK tourists who came to shop for Christmas gifts, here in NYC; because of the more favorable exchange-rate. If you're ever in NYC, stop by Paragon's Sporting Goods store in Manhattan; 18th ST. and Broadway, 2nd floor. Not as big of a...

Happy to help. I don't have any pics but the difference between the 2 grips is fairly easy to explain. A saber grip is when you wrap your fingers around the grip and lay your thumb down on the top-back portion of the knife-handle. (Or on the rear spine of the blade, depending on the overall length o...

Hmm.... Doesn't seem like too much help is being given. Okay, let me try:

1- Your love of serrated-edges will compel you to put one on the blade. Which = more work for you.... on your day off.

2- Your friends will become jealous! You don't want to do that to your friends, do you? ;)

Greetings Apeman! Thank You for posting in my introductory thread; I seemed to have forgotten to post in your's. Ooops, sorry.

I think we'll both have a good time here. And I'm honest enough to admit that your collection is more impressive than mine.... for now.

Warm Greetings to everyone who's posted!

Thank you to all of you, for the warm Welcome! I must admit, it is definitely nice to finally be on a friendly forum with mature folks who have at least one thing in common! :) I recognized a couple of names on here whom I've seen on Bladeforums. (Good to see you guys here). Hmm.... not too many que...

Sorry for not introducing myself sooner.

I'm new to this forum. Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a regular at other forums where introductory threads are not allowed. But I recently came across a similar thread by Apeman, so I figured I'd take a chance. :) Spyderco's forums seem friendlier than some of the ones I'm used to. (I already ...

Thank You. It's good to hear that the new trainers are going to be available. I honestly haven't seen them though. I also looked through the Spyderco on-line catalog before creating this thread; only the old model trainers are shown.

Haven't seen any of the new ones on dealer's shelves yet. :(

New Delica / Endura Trainers?

I love the fact that the Delica 4 and the Endura 4 allow for customers to decide whether they want tip-up carry, or tip-down..... But I noticed that the red-handled trainers are from the old style models. Could someone please tell me if new trainers, based on the new models, will be released soon? (...
