Re: Amsterdam meet.
I would like to keep it as it is.
Part of the charm has been that there was no deals or dealing.
Just focus on some protos and expertise and a lot of knife nuts.
Anywhway @Kristi I would like to offer some support for possible organising. I am located in Frankfurt Germany.
Best regards
Stefan

Re: Spyderco Tenacious - putting low budget aside.
I really love the design. It was my first Spyderco in 2010. The Handle is basically as long as on the Para 3 but the cutting edge is as long as the PM2. Plus nice leafy shape and good handle ergos.

Thank you Spyderco for the opportunity to participate from Europe. I could score a long wanted Military. I really wanted more but that was a fun game. I really can't understand the crying folks with their "worst customer experience ever". I mean Spyderco said they where doing something aga...

Re: DLC and rust.
The reason why it doesn't rust-proof metals is because the deposit method we use cannot create a uniform enough layer so imperfections/pores will occur, so all those imperfections allow oxygen, salt or other catalysts to reach the metal beneath. Thank you that wasn't clear to me. Just found a paper...

Re: DLC and rust.
Here is my humble opinion on that subject. Rust is iron oxide. Rust is prevented in stainless steels by forming chromium oxide on the surface. In both cases there is a metal reacting with the oxygen in the air. DLC is almost pure carbon. It's reaction with the oxygen in the air will Form most likely...

Re: Lc200n Manix 2 LW Interest Poll
I think Sal once asked for input for a knife/knife version if anything was possible. That was before LC200N was introduced to the lineup. I then thought of a Manic LW Salt but didn't post it, because I thought Salt meant it needs to be manufactured in Japan. So I narrowed my own mind instead of thin...

Re: Unpopular Blade Steels That You Like?
For me it's 8cr13mov. Most people rant about it. But I like him in the daily chores and it's super easy to touch up.
Also there are great designs for a budget like the Tenacious or the Bow River.
Greetings.

Spoiled.
Spyderco is about the only company manufacturing great designs in a variety of steels (e. g. PM2).
A couple of years ago you would have to search long for a powder steel blade. Now this premium materials are accessible in a lot of models and price ranges.

Re: Uk penknife drop point
I carry my first gen bd1 drop point slipjoint a lot and i really like the hollow grind and the ergonomics in the "fencing" grip. In Germany you do not have many options with cool one handed knives due to law restrictions. Nevertheless i wouldn't call CTS-BD1 "cheap". We have to k...
