The FRN used on the japanese produced knives is light years from the one used on the Byrd line.

Titanium with some grooves for traction,S30V and backlok.I'l buy at least 3,without seeing them.

DF2,Delica4,and Tenacious have superb ergos for me.Not so much the big bugs,like the Resilience,Manix XL or especialy the Tatanka.

Frankly, I can't understand why anyone would choose to use a less reliable method of opening a locking folder that, when opened properly, will lock open fully 100% of the time, much less judge knives based on it. For SD against animals,your jacket is far more useful than any knife.

Its not the blade that matters,its the skils behind it.Whitout those,you will either provide a weapon for you aggressor,or you will end up killing someone and f#ck your life big time.You should not even think to cary a knife for sd if you do not have hours and hours of practice,and the humility and ...

Its excelent for sd.But the best way to use a knife in sd is:avoid any situation in which you have to open it.

Go ahead and buy the DF in frn.Its plenty strong for any edc Task,yet so light you dont know you have it on you.Its too small to be flickable,but you will love the little bug..
