I'm a huge fan of FRN, but I definitely prefer the one piece handles to the newer 4th generation style. To me, they are simpler and actually feel more robust than the newer models. It kind of makes me sad that there are so few models that use the one piece FRN handles now.

Evil D, The problem is, you have to worry about hitting bystanders, and in a packed theater, that could be hundreds of people. The shooter doesn't give a **** about them, they're all targets to him. You also have to factor in near pitch darkness, the fact the room was smoky (he tossed in smoke bombs...

I'd love to see that model in a carbon steel. As it is, it's still very tempting.

I used the top of the blade of my Delica to steel the edge on a Buck 55. Does that count?

Jazz, I actually just saw a write up that mentioned that the other day, and for the life of me I can't find it again. I couldn't find the orginal article that I read, but here's a little excerpt from his book, " The Wonders of Knifemaking". http://books.google.com/books?id=6XP_y4JpgwkC&...

From what I understand in my internet travels, Mr. Goddard is quite the fan of serrations, hence the reason why most of his Spyderco designs have them.

The problem isn't access to technology, it's that people with absolutely no common sense have access to the technology.

I had to get a couple of stitches this past Friday, because I was using my Delica when I should have been using something much, much duller. The knife slipped, and stabbed me in the middle of my forearm. I've never seen blood squirt out of me like that, thankfully it was nothing major.

Either one should work really. Some guys swear by mineral oil, but I find 3 in 1 works well enough for me. Mineral oil is food safe though, if that's a concern.

Add some dish soap to the pivot, then hold it under hot running water while you open and close the blade. That will help clean out any crud that's trapped in the pivot. You can also use a toothpick if there is a lot of stuff trapped in there. Then, dry it off, add some oil to the pivot, and you shou...

The Para2 actually carries rather well for its size. It doesn't seem as bulky as some of Spyderco's similarly sized folders, and it feels rather light for its size. My only advice, if you end up getting a Para2, is to carry it tip up. Carrying it that way presents the back of the handle to the insid...

Lately, I've been carrying my modified Delica 4 or Delica 4 FFG. Every now and then I throw in my Para2 when the mood hits me.

Here's a pic of the Delica 4 with the modified tip grind.

Any chances we'll see...

A regular production flat ground Native with FRN handles?

Also, is there a chance there will be another run of the Goddard models? It seems like I always end up missing out on those for one reason or another.

This review is making it very hard for me to not buy one right now. The smaller knives are more along my tastes these days, and the fact the blade on this one reminds me of the Lava isn't helping. Seriously though, thanks for a great review as usual Wouter. If I can scrape the funds together, this m...

I'm doing the same thing these days DedRok. I somehow managed to strip out the clip screws again, so I figured I'd drop it in my pocket anyway, and see how it carried. Surprisingly, it's rather comfy, and I don't have to worry about scraping my hand when I reach into my pocket to retrieve something....
