Wash with hot soapy water. Let it dry. Add tiny amount of oil to pivot and detent ball.

Yes, please. I thought they were too small when they were available. Now I am a fan of all the "Lil" knives.

It will never happen. The relationship between Spyderco and the designer has diminished.

Re: End of 2020 Opinions on VG-10

All of my first Spydercos were VG-10 Rescue blades from the 90's. This was during a period of time where I was much less concerned with blade steels or even the use/abuse of my knives. It never rusted even though it was in the pocket of swim trunks all summer. It never chipped. I eventually met some...

Re: Official plea for a Rock Jumper XL

I'll buy one. I have been carrying the SE Rock Jumper since it first came out and I really like it. I normally like a "Lil" version of my favorites, but in this case an XL would be pleasing.

Re: Any blade play in the New Green Pac Salt?

Seki City lockback = a little up/down blade play. Bothers me less than the Siren which has amazing lockup until you grip the handle. The tiniest amount of pressure on the lockback lets the blade rattle.

Re: Caribbean Troubles

The pivot and stop pin interplay has been different on most of my PM2's. Some I can crank the pivot tight and loosen the stop pin and get great action. Others have the stop pin snug and the pivot loose. I'd just keep messing with it. Actually maybe put it down and come back with fresh patience and t...

Re: Have you owned a Spyderco lockback with zero play?

2 new backlocks to me: Siren and the Rock Jumper. Siren: no blade play, but lock slop when you grip it tightly. The lock bar is so wide and the cutout is quite far forward such that the meat of your hand will ever so slightly depress the lock and you can feel the blade rattle against the lock. Feels...

Re: Siren

I just received by Rockjumper and it has exactly the back spring strength that my Siren is missing. Much less lock release in an edge-in reverse hammer grip and firm hammer grip. If anyone else has both, can you check to see if your results are the same? Maybe my Siren just has a weak back spring? ...

I like it, but if it's not there, it is presumably not needed. See: Siren, Rock Jumper, Rock Lobster, Nilakka and Lil Nilakka, Rhino.

Re: What's your favorite odd duck/black sheep model?

I'd have to say the Vrango. Recurved tanto blade, anodized Ti handles. No cutout for the liner lock. Sharp edges on the entire handle make reaching into the pocket carrying it (tip down only) an uncomfortable endeavor. But for some reason I still love it.

Re: Rock Jumper comparison thread + general info

I've carried mine for a few days so I'll add: I'm unconcerned if they could fit more blade in the handle. I find that on some knives, clothing or anything else can snag the tip of a blade that isn't recessed deeply enough into the handle. Being an adventurers knife, you would not want to be snagging...

Re: Lil’ Native Sprints/Exclusives?

I love the lil Native as well. Carried an S30V comp lock from right when they released them. So I naturally jumped on the 4V which is really nice.

Oh there will be more! I think it's more of a juggling act in Golden to fit everything into the schedule.
