I would get a smaller knife before i would grind off 1" from a good knife

What did you snap it off on? I use mine for boxes, even pruned a few branches with it and it did great.

The real deal is reasonably priced and has a **** of a lot better steel so why would anyone waste money on the fake?

I gave one a shot, sanded it down, rounded the end some, filed some finger grooves and did some burning then I dyed it with RIT dye and sprayed it with clear coat. my 2 byrd knives are perfect. you would think they would be much more expensive.

i have the cara cara 2 and have no issues, it is a really nice knife. I have the byrd hawkbill as well and it is top notch too.
