Re: Chapparal LW
I have only one complaint about the Chap - it is a platform for handle/scales (yay!), but not knife steels (wah). The last one I owned was an early s30v version. Maybe it is time to reconsider.

Re: Damascus UK Penknife UKPK
A Damasteel bladed UKPK would certainly be cool and Golden have used their steel before. But to be honest, considering the likely price point, I'd probably prefer to pay for a tool steel UKPK in something like K390, CPM 4V or Maxamet. k390? Yes CPM 4V - Yes! Maxamet? YES! :D I would even settle for...

Re: The Final (probably) Three, Revised
Para3 LW. Maxamet would have been the answer a few weeks ago, but rex45 sure fits the platform well. UKPK - S110v. I have a few with custom scales - not sure I could choose. Watu I do have some boomer lil' para scales coming in for a jazzlica- this may make it onto the list since it gets rid of that...

Re: Watu - aftermarket scales?
Yeah I would totally buy some without holes I am tempted to try and make my first set of scales - and was debating between "holey" and "non-holey" What do you dislike about the holes? Limits aftermarket clip options bc some clips "fall" into the hole Good point. As muc...

Re: Watu - aftermarket scales?
I'd also be interested...haven't seen any yet, though. I'd probably already have a Watu if it had g10 scales with some kind of color. I think it'd look really cool with pakkawood scales, too. Yes - I normally love micarta - but I think wood would fit well with the ethnic series design behind this k...

Watu - aftermarket scales?
I know the Watu was only recently released - just asking if anyone is aware of any aftermarket scales yet? I really like the knife. There is something about the laminated CF that doesn't sit right with me. It looks fine and it feels fine - I just don't like it. As an example, I now love my Smock aft...

Re: 3 Classics You Want To See As SPRINT RUNS
We have lost quite a few classic designer/knifemakers these past few years that I am feeling a bit nostalgic. How about a homage sprint run series?

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient
Not a deal breaker! I would actually prefer polished. And - it is easy to run a little sand paper to rough it up if that is what someone prefers. I think green micarta doesn't polish as readily as natural? If so, perhaps that is an option? Perhaps after milling, you would end up with a matte finish ...

Re: Form vs. Function
With a background in design, I wholeheartedly believe that "form follows function." I also think that we are incredibly lucky to not have to choose - we have stellar knife designers/makers here at Spyderco that can provide both. Form over function has its place - but not something I prefer...

Re: Foiled again!
What you really need in that situation is a flying guillotine. I tried that, but the stock wire clip made it sit too low in the pocket so it was not readily available. I was even willing to accept a little pocket shredding to get a tactical advantage, but it didn't work out. If only it came in all ...

Could you include some pics with the blade closed?
And curious - was the original plan for picture 3, but then you kept shaping and ended up with picture 4? I am trying to understand why you made the cuts you did.

Re: Spyderco Cat Refresh
The cat was the knife that first pulled me into Spyderco. I agree that the black g10 was not very inspiring. I loved it so much I had a few sets of scales made for it even. The CF was full-CF. Early days of CF, and I remember lots of them had chips or inclusions. Couple of old photos: faux bolster l...

Re: Anything else like the Watu blade shape?
There was the Chokwe before the watu. Its a bit different but the Opus has a blade shape that is similar. It was just discontinued and there should still be some out there at discounted prices. Thanks. Bigger than I typically carry, but I am considering one now. Also readily available, unlike the C...
