Re: Combo edged Para2 by Willey Knives

Thanks for the review... I can now see why SE is done with a chisel grind, it looks quite strange with a double bevel, and I suppose the teeth will wear away much faster. Why would you think that? Chisel grind cuts your edge angle in half. Having a 40 degree edge angle instead of 20 degree should m...

Re: Combo edged Para2 by Willey Knives

They told me that they have two grinding wheels. One can do 1 3/4 inches of serrations and the other one can do 4 inches of serrations. I was gonna have a Cruwear Military done but it doesn't have 4 inches of cutting edge and I didn't want a combo edge Cruwear Military. I don't see why these would w...

Re: Combo edged Para2 by Willey Knives

Looks pretty good. I wonder if they would do 3/4 of the blade instead of half. The best part is it looks like they would be compatible with the sharpmaker too. From my communication with them in the past year, options are very limited because their grinding wheels are for a specific number of teeth...

Re: Combo edged Para2 by Willey Knives

Thank you for the information, Darby. I admired your SE PM2 the first time you posted pics of it a few days ago. Very cool service and very reasonably priced. I can see sending a number of my own knives in for a little tooth work. :D

Combo edged Para2 by Willey Knives

I picked up a couple of factory second Paramilitary2s at the seconds sale this past November and quickly sent them out to Willey Knives to have them serrated. Sal has recommended them in the past and I am not the first person to post on here about using their service but it does seem ...

Hi Darby,

Willey is one of the best at serrations by hand.

Re: OK, it's time to get serious

... fitting as it came to fruition on the forums. I don't mind running the pass around. Or Jazz could do it if he wished. I had a knife serrated by Willey knives. Like Sal said, you can't just add them after the fact. You would have to consume the whole backside bevel which would thicken the edge ...

Re: Spyderco Paramilitary 52100 Carbon Fiber

It is a factory second I picked up this past fall. I sent it out to Willey Knives to have the serrations added. I haven't posted many pics because I don't really ever carry it. It seemed like a great idea at the time but as of now it has mostly just been sitting ...

Re: Military---I finally got one.

I'm pretty sure Willey Knives can do it. I just don't have a PE Military at the moment. But, I would much rather have Spyderco do it, so the edge is all in a straight line. Having them cut serrations into a V ground bevel means the ...

I'm assuming if you know the shop I'm talking about, you're at least somewhere around Northern KY? Are you also saying Willey Knives is local or did you order that from them? Yeah dude, I could ride my bike to your house :) I actually should go stalker and track you down so I can ...

Was able to score a nib Caly 3 in superblue for $150 from Willeyknives about 6 months ago, still pretty stoked about that one. Botach had some new old stock serrated Caly Jrs for $40, but they're sold out now. ...

Willey Knives in DE does a Spyderco recommended serration pattern. Any knife fully serrated for $4. Of course you pay shipping there and back but for ...

Re: I will now EDC only SE for 6 months.

My serrated Military is the only knife I currently own. So by default it's all I carry. It began life plain edged. Sent it to Willey Knives and had them put a Spyder edge on it. Their serration pattern gives you a few more teeth on a Military than the original factory pattern. EvilD, ...
