Methinks you took the knife apart and reassembled it? I've had Enduras never to lock again after disassembly. You know, try as I might, I can't help thinking the attitude of the poster and the general post on the forum rather than contacting Spyderco directly and sending it in. Well it strikes true...

52 in Wales, I noticed the last week or so, its gone from a fairly pleasant 70-75 down to 50's in a very short period of time. Its reaching the end of Sept and already I am starting to look at my winter jackets and give them an airing.

Its a curious situation for me. Orange is aesthetically not at all pleasing. In my opinion anyway. It does have a safety appearance in some regards, but in the same manner, it draws attention. Something which is never good when there are non knife people about. Even in the pocket, it draws looks whe...

One other thing that I had not really considered. All my knives in S30V are from the early days of its introduction. 2005-2006 ish. I have not bought a knife in S30V recently. More modern knives in S30V might not have the same issues if my theory is correct that its down to how tricky it is to get r...

Oh and just to add, every time I resharpen my UKPK, I of course removed these microchips. Only for them to return with use. I have now put a secondary bevel on the knife at 40 degree's inclusive and am testing the knife at that edge angle. This was done on the flats of the white stones of the Sharpm...

One of the things thats easy to forget is increasing edge retention (for example) in the aspects of wear resistance specifically. Not toughness or anything more complex, just the ability of an edge at a given angle to resist wear. You take a steel like 440C, which for many years was 'the' benchmark ...

It would be cool to have a multi-tool with decent steel on it. To be clear though I am not thinking about something like a Leatherman type tool though. Just a keychain suitable pocket tool that does the basics. Bottles, cans and prying with a nice cutting blade one handed opening. Spyderize a pocke...

An idea I was thinking on regarding a new model

I was thinking last night. 2 new models for Spyderco/Byrd. First knife would be a non locking Byrd slipit. Sub 3" blade with the finger choil and one hand opening. The handle would also have a wide screwdriver with bottle opener and a separate can opener. As a basic visualisation a modern one handed...

Polished bevels do matter. Spyderco knives do not come with polished bevels due to cost. It costs money to bring an edge to a polished state. Time, belts and it all adds up. A polished bevel, and as Spyderco knives have V bevels, so the edge would be polished as well. Gives a finer edge that lasts l...

Its a great blade shape and good steel at a very good price point. Decent lock up, easy to carry and many consider the Native a true classic along with the Military, Delica and Endura. I certainly do. I own three Native knives and have used a Native 3. I can find no niggles worth mentioning consider...

Yeah, design is definitely the most important for me - it has to look good and work well for my usual EDC tasks. That said, I seem to just buy UKPKs so the knife design is great anyway and the steel is adequate for me :) It's unlikely that they'd make them in ZDP-189 or VG-10 anyway (Japanese) so t...

Yes, I have seen this on my S30V knives as well.

My Manix and Chinook in particular. No sign of actual orange rust, just a few pits appear from no where.
