David, Good to see you back here too! I diverted my funds for a while, but I had to get back. Some really good things have come out since I stopped thinking about knives around 7 months ago. I am now trying to get the higher end knives. I am at a point in the collection where I have a lot of Delica'...

I just finnished Milo Afong's Hogs In the Shadows. This is a collection of after action reports of USMC snipers in Iraq. Excellent read, you can read one story in 10 min's, perfect for before bed.

I have ended my Spyderco drought--With Pics

Hey everyone, I just wanted to start a quick thread to say that my period of not buying knives has ended. I went on a Glock kick and bought three of them. I went to the SFO on Saturday and picked up a P'kal. I have to say it felt really good, and these knives are so wounderful. I love the P'kal, I h...

First off. welcome to the forum! Dragging the tip off the flats is less damaging than dragging it off the corners. When you drag it off the corners, it runs right onto the flat, and that grinds the tip away pretty fast. Your best bet in my opinion is to turn the base over, lay a rod in one of the g...

I bought one for my wife two years ago and its a last ditch SD tool. The shape of the blade does some mean cutting. Not the ideal situation I know, but a whole lot better than nothing.

Pure classic knife from Spyderco. I love my ZDP 189 one, yeah it's got a purple handle but all the better. Great size, blade shape, ergo's, length, and it will not scare the sheeple. This knife along with the Endura define the knife as an everyday tool for me.

Endura. This is a classic in my mind. It represents a nice size, and has a great grip. This knife has changed over time and represents progress in the design, yet remains a classic. Oh yeah, don't forget its little bro the Delica too.

Thank you very much for the birthday wishes! I can't believe I'm 26 this year. I know I have not been around this forum much lately, lots going on in the real world (not to worry, everything is fine---just busy as hell). I hope you all and all at Spyderco are doing well and thanks for the warm wishe...

I have found that my CF handled knives tend to resist the effect of the pocket wearing the texture down better. After a few years in the pocket the G10 starts to get smooth. My peel-ply CF has not had this happen as of yet.

:spyder: Well, the D2's will rust faster so in the long run there'll probably be fewer of then than the bg-42. :spyder: +1 on this. The BG-42 is excellent as far as edge retention, and it a stainless steel. I don't have enough experience with the D2 to speak on the rust properties of this steel. Pl...

This knife may pose questions of legality for carry. Supposing that it is legal for carry where you are, I would consider configuring my sheath for small of the back carry, drawing strong side. But like I said, check for the legality of your choice.

I amways find it funny when people look at me with that look of "are you serious, you spent how much on those (insert item)". I think that this life is too short, and if possible people should spend money on things that bring them happiness. I am the sort of person that really gets into how things w...
