Good to hear from you again. I took a break for a while and have been back for about 6 months myself. Sometimes it takes being away for a while to get you to really appreciate the company again.

Welcome back!

Its called Diamond Like Carbon or DLC. Every once and a while I put a light coat of oil on it and wipe it off. This it makes it look "more" black and less dried out. Holds up well.

So is that standard procedure if you have to get the heck out fast? He did a good job of going down that ladder head first! I think it depends on the department, or even the individual rig and how they train. We had a ladder bail training a couple years ago on how to grip the ladder to come out hea...

Mule seconds were $65. I did not see any of the other knives you mentioned. They had some Lavas for $80 IIRC. They had a decent ammount of close out stuff too, first quality, just a discount.

If you guys make it next year we need to set up a forumite meeting time. This would be a good chance for us to meet eachother. As for a bigger room, good luck with that--I would just come earlier. Unless they take it off site, which would make the prices go up, I don't see how they could let more pe...

To each there own, lights can be quite personal. I happen to find zero issues with this light for what it is, and you differ. Guess thats why Surefire makes more then one light.

Also, on the new Surefire E1B, how do you adjust the brightness? On the E1B the first beam is the 80 lumen, and the second beam is the 5 lumen. You click or just depress the tail switch, when you turn it off the next beam is the less bright one. If you use the main beam and leave it off for 5 secon...

I would look at two Surefire lights. First, if you like the G2 then check out the G2L. This light has an 80 lumen output and will run for 12 hours. Thats a huge improvement over the original. It runs around $65. I use it as a duty light and it is great. The second light is the E2B. It is little. It ...

I laughed out loud to the point, my 16 month old son stopped crying to see what daddy thought was so funny. He then returned to crying on his way back to mommy. Ten minutes on the Spyderco forums $0.00, twelve seconds of silence with my son, priceless. DFD04, we miss you and the Mrs. dczippo Miss y...
