Re: Are sprint runs too small?

I think the best "solution" to the problem was something I saw suggested by another user in another thread about this exact same topic (sigh). Make Spyderco the only source for the initial purchase of any sprint run knives. Since Spyderco sells at MSRP so they won't compete with their dealers, the i...

Re: Astute ... Yess !

Out of all the knives in the Reveal, that's the one that's sticking with me the most. Anyone have thoughts on the performance of Spyderco's 8Cr compared to other brands that use it? my experience with the resilience is much better than some kershaw i’ve used. Thanks for the info. Hopefully the Astu...

Re: What would you like to see next from Byrd?

D2 is older than dirt, hard to imagine not getting it right Maybe d2 is hard to heat treat in large batches? I remember doing a little research, because I was curious why I was seeing so much D2 on knives from China, and I guess they have their own version of that steel. I can't remember the compos...

Re: What was done? (Warranty question)

I decided to do a test on the only all stainless folder I currently own, a Spyderco Lava. Closed, I can hear the blade moving back and forth when I shake it. Open, same thing. Applying pressure to the blade and handle I can induce blade play. However, it is still plenty solid, and I wouldn't be afra...

Re: What was done? (Warranty question)

It sounds like the extent of the service was an inspection and resharpening, as explained by the note. There were no tool marks or evidence of it being fixed, because they didn't do anything else. What do you consider bad blade play? As long as it's not in danger of unlocking while you handle it, it...

Re: Astute ... Yess !

I think you two may have sealed the deal for me on this one.

I'm gonna have to go for it when it's released. There's something about the design that just draws me to it.

Re: Reveal 4, What's your favorite release?

The Astute could be my perfect knife, but I've just never been a fan of 8Cr13MoV. I maybe just have to break down and try it regardless. That Watu is awfully tempting, too, as is the new Pacific Salt. If I can't get one of the old ones before they're all out of stock, I might have to grab the update...

Re: Opinions on the combo edge

Perfect Chris thanks for sharing, that’s exactly what I was looking for Thankyou No problem. The TiCn coating isn't quite as durable as DLC, but I think it's worn well for what I've put it through. I have to admit that my fondness for the CE Delica has me looking at the CE Endura, just because if a...

Re: Opinions on the combo edge

thanks for the input everyone, thanks for your time does anyone have a pic of how the black coating on a combo edge holds up ( thinking endura / delica) Here's a post I made on another thread, showing off my CE Delica. Admittedly, most of the wear near the edge came from me giving it a bit of a rep...

Re: Design details that are deal breakers

Recurves: I struggle to sharpen them in the reverse portion of the blade. So it’s become a deal breaker for me. Trailing points: This one is all about the tip. I don’t feel like I have as much control at the tip as I do with other blade shapes. So none of those in my collection either. And like you...

Re: Opinions on the combo edge

My primary carry right now is a CE Delica, and I find it works perfectly for me. I cut a lot of vinyl hose and airline at work, as well as zipties, and the Delica just goes right through them with no effort. I was slicing up cardboard a few days ago, and found the serrations slid through better than...

Count me in among the linerless fans. I much prefer not having to disassemble a knife every couple weeks to clean the rust off liners.

Congrats man! Funny how one can feel relief and sadness at the same time!

If nothing else, this gives me the motivation to more seriously consider the Police 4 LWT.

Re: The Superior Delica

Lately, my CE Delica has been my primary carry knife, both for work and outside. Having used it so much for so long now, it's led to a bit of a dilemma whenever I start looking at something new. "Will it work better than the Delica? Will it allow me to do something that the Delica can't accomplish?"...

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!

BladeHQ still has some good bundle deals up on their site. I wish someone would either buy out that Police 4/Atlantic Salt combo, or buy it for me, because it's been tempting me for a week now. I can't believe that one hasn't sold out. I'm not particularly interested in either of those knives other...
