Re: Filleting fish with the Spyderco Dogtag

That proves a quote a wise man says on the traditional section on BF:

"It doesn't have to be big, just sharp"

Re: dream sprint?

At the moment I can't affort ANY Spydie, but if money wasn't an option I would like to have a G10 handled Dragonfly in fully serrated H1 steel.

Re: Your Blue Collar SPYDERS

Being unemloyed now, but when I still had a job my go to Sydies were the fully serrated Military, Endura Gen3/SE and Paramilitary 1/SE.
Now around and about my Gen2 Delica/SE (clipless) or Forrest Green LB 2/SE are enough most of the time.

Re: Which SE Spydie?

For small I would go with the Ladybug. Everytime I cut with it, it amazes me how much bigger that tiny blade sears through rope, paper and the like. For big nothing beats a fully serrated Military. Although if you have the S30V one you may want to really polish the scallops because when new they CAN...

Re: SE...rounded points or sharp, and why?

I like the LOOKS of aggressive serrations but for use I like them a little rounder. Way less chance of snagging when they are not that super sharp anymore. I had very deep and pointy serrations on my SS Cricket and they snagged all the time so I very carefully rounded them off a bit with the browns ...

Re: Pros & Cons of Serrated Edge vs Plain Edge?

Bit late to the party :o Pro's: Cuts almost everything faster and better albeit maybe not as clean. Cuts longer between sharpening A serrated blade cuts like a longer PE blade A serated blade with a opening hole IS Spyderco :D Cons: maybe not as suitable for shaving or fine whittling. SpyderEdge roc...

Re: The Art of Everyday Carry : A Beginner's Guide to EDC

When I'm out and about I carry at the moment: Wallet (containing a straw with Victorinox tweezers, toothpick and pen. Bandaids and few tablets of paracetamol and ibuprofen) Spyderco Ladybug/SE in FG with or without a Case Yellow Delrin Peanut in CV. this goes all in RFP Key chain: house key, Leather...

Re: DOGTAG FOLDER. How much use does it get??

Don't have a Dogtag and won't have in the future unfortunately, but the things said on small knives is true. Have been carrying my FG Ladybug/SE constant for the past weeks and use it all the time. It's small enough not to notice it when carrying, won't raise eye brows in public and is more than cap...

Re: Victorinox Swiss Army knifes

I like them a lot and have a bunch of them. I grew up with these knives and they are kinda traditional over here. If you CAN find someone over here that's carrying a knife, 98% of the time it will be a SAK of some sort (or a knock off  ) Heck, during my mandadory military service we were issued...

Re: Is it me?

Sup Arend? I agree. I think the current forum software pretty much sucks. VBulletin is the best forum software made. Everything else is just "OK" but mostly sucks. I now frequent Bladeforums more often than here purely due to how much I hate this forum software. Chad, dang good to see you too broth...

Re: Any More Double Bladed Spyderco Folders?

Maybe the TUSK platform would work. Make the main blade the fully serrated DYAD blade and in place of the spike a plain edge Ladybug blade. G10 handles, any steel from VG10 and up (or H1) And because the serrated blade of the DYAD resembles a crocodile's head/mouth you could call it the "CROC" Just ...

From safe queen to pocket carry (PM1)

Hi folks, I've always had a love and hate relationship with the PM1. The ones I did have in the past came far from perfect. Off centred and vertical play (back in 2006 or so) However the knife felt great in the hand but only when using the choil. Without it felt downright awkward. So I got rid of th...

Re: Any More Double Bladed Spyderco Folders?

For some reason I never tried the Dyad being a Spyderedge purist back in the day, but after my travel in the traditional knife world I got to appreciate a PE blade as well. That said I would love to try one (small) out in any steel. What I DID ask for back then was a knife with only the serrated bla...
