Re: How about a new Military?

I really like my cruwear millie. Don’t think I’d buy another; so another steel would be good. K390, AEB-L, LC200N, all sound interesting. Ti framelock would dissuade me from buying.

Hey Woodpuppy,

What are they made out of?

sal
Leather! I have had a couple of horsehide over the years, the rest have been cowhide. I’ve only recently tried kydex and while functional, are kind of... meh. Synthetics help with reactive steels though, where leather could promote worse corrosion.

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient

Just another outlook/datapoint here. I don’t use “off the shelf” holsters for pistols either. There are a small number of makers who build by hand and their wares work. A couple of them do sheaths too. A great knife needs a great sheath. I wish there was an option for knife + no sheath so the buyer ...

I swear I’ve voted in a dent poll within the last year, but not this one or the one Wartstein linked. I’d prefer no dent, but ultimately I don’t care. It doesn’t figure into my decision to buy or not.

Used my millie to carve an impromptu wand for my daughter dressed up as Hermione Granger. Both girls had duplicate “Ron Weasley” wands and that was not OK... solved it!

I like making ferro rod handles out of fatwood. I have thought of something like Old Hickory mod with a fatwood handle, it wood look and smell amazing.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Thanks for demonstrating. I’ve been wanting to dye 2 different sets of scales; my gray Cruwear millie is dyed “wine”, and I want to strip it and go green; my jade para3 scales need a darker forest green. I have held off buying dye because I’ve no idea what the results would be; definitely need a dar...

Re: Completely Forgotten Spyderco Models: Your Favorites?

I never hear anything about the Remote Release. It was my second Spyderco, and my first full SE Spyderco. First full SE knife in general. Cool knife  They actually had a second rendition of the Remote Release. I've still got one of mine from back in the AUS-8 era. The second and most recent R...

Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll

I don't know...I understand that the Forum knife only happens sporadically, and I don't expect one to come out every year. But, I do find it a little odd that when Spyderco does decide to make one, they don't appear to show much interest in the voiced preferences or suggestions from the Forum membe...

With all the discussion about wharncliffe blades, a wharnie UKPK with a blade shape inspired by the Air in a steel which is easy to get sticky sharp would be perfect!

I hadn’t seen that one. I’ve thought about putting traction tape on the smooth side, but I don’t use the knife often; mine has unimpressive mystery steel. Certainly no match for Spyderco!

Re: Pac salt green frn lc200n shipping to dealers!

It’s interesting to hear dissatisfaction with lose pivot screws. When I came onboard here, the complaints seemed to be mostly about screws with locktite! There are clearly 2 camps, some want to be able to adjust and disassemble, some want to not have to worry about screws loosening up. Illustrates t...
