Obvious question... what steel is used in those cutting blades & dies?!? That’s a hellish life for a blade!

Well y’all are killin me. I just ordered one. That makes 4 new Spydies in 2 weeks.

DLC blades and black hardware with colored scales on the delica. Orange and black would be awesome.

I tried that; my wife made a face and said she wants a lock. I can’t fault her for that! Much as I dig the Dragonfly for small hands, it may be Delica time.

I’m dredging this back up to see if there are more opinions two years later. I’m interested in a pm2, and I think my top choices are M4 and 52100. I am happy to accept some corrosion affinity in exchange for low chipping potential, and more ease of sharpening. What say ye? Is 52100 still less loved ...

Comparing a straight razor to most edcs ignores that razors generally have a convex edge rather than microbevels. More meat behind the apex. I’m thinking I need the pm2 in 52100 and convex the edge.

For value in your length limit you really can’t beat a Delica. Seems to be a test bed for steels and different handle colors. A legacy model, and I like that it’s made in Japan like my first Spyderco, the Worker.

“Sharp” to me implies a positive measure of performance. Edge geometry plays a part in performance of course; and this is without getting into if a given edge geometry will last under the use its given. YES! Yeah my life is loaded with pink and purple. Even my 3 year old son says he wants a pink knife. He has the wooden dragonfly for now, we’ll worry about colors of real knives later.
