Re: 2023 price increases?

I remember when cigarettes were $2.25 a pack and coffe was .50 cents and gas was a $1.25 a gallon. Things change. *I also remember when phones had cords and dials :rofl My MIL reminds me she had to carry water from a pitcher pump well to the house. So yeah, things change. The amount of change in th...

Re: 2023 price increases?

I think a focus on more S35VN models out of China would be a good move given the rising costs. Those knives are excellent values and very competitive with others in the range. A $200 Spyderco has a lot of price competition with other makers for quality, fit and finish that a $100 Chinese Spyderco d...

Re: 2023 price increases?

It’s been eye-opening selling my knives lately. A Benchmade 710HSSR that I bought for $113 nearly 20 years ago just sold on eBay for $360. eBay got their cut of course, but dang. My price tolerance for knives is around $200 for a top of the line Golden Spyderco. We’re past that for my favorite model...

Re: Does you S.O. asks you this question?

Lately I’ve been selling knives… 13 sold to the tune of around $1800. This is to help fund a very nice solo canoe. She is no longer asking about knives, but rather “why do you need 4 canoes?”. Going for 5 babe. I want to be Woodpuppy when I grow up and have five canoes . . . heck I would settle for...

A second N5LW in M4 from BHQ (gonna swap scales and have a blackout version in M4), an N5LW S110V from CS, and the DLT Para3 Black & Tan.

Ordered more Raman noodles, too. Cutting open my 25 cent dinner with a 150 dollar knife seems rational, right?

Right?
Hahahaha!!! :winking-tongue

The amalgam is so close- that edge just needs to come back to the handle.

Re: Integral Compression Lock Shaman?

Spyderco calls the liner lock a Walker Liner Lock. The Glesser's like to give credit where it is due, even if that is not often given to them. Right; Spyderco does, but it doesn’t seem that the forums in general do. Yet “RIL” is much more prevalent. Maybe it’s because I’d not heard it called that b...

Re: Integral Compression Lock Shaman?

On a mostly unrelated note, when did the “frame lock” start getting “full named” “Reeve Integral Lock” on the forums? I’d never heard the term in the early 2000s when I was active on the Benchmade forum, and when I joined up here a couple/3 years ago that seemed to be the dominant term. Not sure why...

Re: Integral Compression Lock Shaman?

No, in part because it seems like a terrible hotspot location, in part because it seems terribly expensive and the Shaman already is, and because I want to see the choil-less Shaman.

Ladybug is great, I bet the Wharnie Delica would be good too. I have a 4” Victorinox paring knife that is super thin 👍 and works like a champ. Those are some spectacular punkins y’all! Wow.

Yikes. Be very careful with power tools! The only time I use a dremel on my knives is to clean corrosion out of the thumb ramp serrations.

Re: Knife memes

🤔😶 Hey Woodpuppy. No ill intentions. I just thought it was funny. We knife-a-holics tend to bicker about user vs collector. Now it seems even the collectors are dividing themselves. Thought it would give a chuckle. That’s all. Oh, I was doing the same thing as the one-liner Centofante 3 in the foll...
