Re: Question on another brand's heat treat and such

The many relevant criticisms of BRK are indisputable facts, and go well beyond the opinions of BF members. BF is just a one-stop shop for the OP to get all of the information quickly. Naperville - you have a history on BF which brings your impartiality into question. Don't you think it's unreasonabl...

Re: Question on another brand's heat treat and such

I would suggest visiting Bladeforums and doing some research on BRK. Heat treatment may be the least of your worries.

Re: Tenacious C122GBOR in stock anywhere

The knife you're looking for (C122GPBOR) was released by Cutlery Shoppe in 2017 and is long gone. The only place you're going to find one is somewhere like eBay. https://cutleryshoppe.com/spyderco-c122gpbor-tenacious-3-39-black-finish-plain-edge-8cr13mov-blade-orange-g-10-handle-cutlery-shoppe-exclu...

Re: Centering the blade of a PM2

Simple disassembly does not void your warranty. "Spyderco’s knives are assembled to exacting tolerances by trained technicians, so we discourage end users from disassembling or adjusting our knives. If a knife has been disassembled and reassembled correctly—so as to maintain its proper mechanical fu...

Pretty sure s45vn too but could be wrong
The list is outdated because the thread is almost two years old. K390, 10V and 4V have also been added to the lineup in the interim.

Re: Centering the blade of a PM2

What's the date code on the box? I'm curious to know whether it's current/recent production or more like 2017-2018.

Are you sure it's a centering issue and not a warped blade? The Maxamet PM2 has been seen with warped blades in the past.

Re: Anyone know anything about M2 steel?

It's in the same family as M4 and Rex 45, but doesn't get as hard or as tough as M4. I noticed the new Bradfords are marked simply M2 instead of CPM M2, which means it's probably ingot M2. Their CPM 3V models should outperform ingot M2 in all characteristics.

Re: Abnormal? Autonomy 2 button wear

I bought an Autonomy 2 from BHQ a couple years ago. It had a gritty action and metal shavings falling out of it. It felt like it was grinding or galling as the blade cleared the locking pin on deployment. I immediately sent it back. I'm waiting for Spyderco to address this issue before I try the Aut...

Sal's maker's mark on the Endura, Delica etc. are a relatively new addition. I haven't seen any confirmed counterfeits with the maker's mark yet.

Re: Left handed PM2

I have a left handed Paramilitary 2, and it's a very nice knife. If a compression lock was really all that great in the wrong hand, you'd see right handed people clamoring over themselves to buy up all the left-handed knives. And then Spyderco would focus production on left-handed knives, but they'...

Re: Left handed PM2

I would say it's definitely *not* worth it. I find that the RH PM2 is extremely operable by lefties (and yes I'm a leftie), as long as the clip is oriented for LH tip up carry. It takes about 5 minutes to learn the technique, and it's actually a more efficient operation than closing it with your rig...

It's definitely fake. The Torx size on the pivot screw is too small, and the clip angle is wrong.

Re: Help with Police model number . . .

It's a lot less mysterious when you remember seeing them on Ali Express a few years back. I agree with your assessment that it's a fake. Even ignoring the fact that it's a configuration never offered by Spyderco, all of the engravings are wrong. The POLICE and logo are the wrong color, too bold and...

I thought it was this one, but I am confused. I am no Police expert.
I think that's the carbon fiber version with a single position clip.

The only Seki K390 I know of that's been tested so far is the Police 4. Three different examples tested at 64.2, 65.2 and 65.5.
