The pictures you included have factory digicam scales that have been Rit dyed to red. The DLT exclusives have solid red G10 from the factory. If you want one like in the photos you attached, get a standard S30V digicam model and a bottle of red Rit dye.
Delica fakes are particularly close in appearance to the real thing, but you can still spot them easily if you know what to look for. On a real Delica, the outer edge of the oval and the inner edge of the handle outline are extremely crisp, and appear to have a slight amount of mold flash. On the fa...
It's basically a clickbait form letter with the word Spyderco plugged into all of the <manufacturer> fields, mad libs style. It has nothing to do with Spyderco knives.
If we’re looking at three different blades and the etching is the same, then I’m eating crow and agreeing with Darby and others that the etching is not enough to declare a counterfeit. Yes it's three different blades. From the top: the OP's Police, JuPaul's ZDP Delica and Sharp Guy's V-Toku2 Delica...
It's definitely a known factory variation. Whatever method they're using to do that engraving, it's being done in a repeatable fashion. All of the little deviations appear to be substantially identical across multiple examples. I'd say it absolutely authenticates your Police. http://decadecounter.co...
What was he doing with it? Supersteel Steve did a lateral prying tip test into what looked like pine. I think he had the blade about a half inch into the wood. The handle broke at the forward edge of the diamond milling in the scales, and the blade picked up a permanent bend. The same test broke th...
You have to go early before the dealers get there. Yup, you have to go early and on the first day. Customs vary from region to region, but around here Thursday is the first day of the garage sale weekend. Keep an eye on Craigslist, and organize the garage sales so you can go to as many of them as e...
I went to two garage sales yesterday, and had insane knife finds at both of them. At the first sale I spotted three old Case knives priced at $2-3 each, but then I noticed this completely unused Norman Levine custom slipjoint, with a big $2.00 price sticker... http://www.decadecounter.com/vta/misc/l...
I was having the same problem using Seamonkey (Mozilla derivative browser). I went into my certificate settings and disabled the Online Certificate Status Protocol function entirely. Thank you very much, that's good advise!!! But since I am really totally clueless when it comes to IT: By disabling,...

Even my wife who knows how I feel about knives abuses them like they are some garden utensil. I used to have my expensive chef knives in the kitchen but soon I realized that they need to be saved after what can only be called agaivated and habitual knife abuse. My wife is similar, so I've been relu...
He's not just using weasel language to vaguely mislead people. I've talked to him at length in person, and if his knives are anything other than 100% hand-forged or hand-built by him from raw blade stock and handle materials, then his intention is to overtly defraud customers.
I'm looking for some help identifying some suspicious-looking knives. There's this guy who has started selling at various gun shows and flea markets in Ohio over the past year, offering a wide range of knives as his own "hand crafted knives made in the USA". I'm 99% sure that most or all of his kniv...
Sal says this in part 1 of the BHQ Spyderco shop tour, just after the 11:00 mark. I believe he was referring to machining tolerances and other manufacturing/QC standards.
