Re: The Official Gun Brand and Caliber Debate thread!

My favorites are Sig Sauer in .357 Sig...... i've just started playing with .357 sig recently and gaining some serious respect for it. don't own a gun chambered for it but set up a spare g22 with a storm lake .357 barrel and lone wolf frame. did the same with a smith .40c, installed a lone wolf bar...

Re: The Official Gun Brand and Caliber Debate thread!

that tok in 7.62x25 is nasty. my buddy won't carry anything else, chosen for penetration. he went through pages and pages of fbi ballistic studies. very deadly on body armor and car doors. who knew? lol

Re: The Official Gun Brand and Caliber Debate thread!

edc a g20 10mm. as big as a cinder block but 10 will put most anything down. won't penetrate the higher level of body armor but will put the little thug on his behind seeing stars and birdies.

Re: Manix 2 got ran over. Need help!

i don't know, i'd send it in. i'm sure they see some freakish repairs coming in from time to time. worse they can do is return it with a thanks but no thanks and the repair guy has a good story for the break room. i shouldn't admit it but i have a total wreck in repair now. today is 2 weeks in, hopi...

Re: Meerkat in the house

i'd agree. just ordered one myself this afternoon. hopefully eta will be sat. meerkat came in a day early and i'm really happy with it. super fit and finish and yep, blade drenched in oil/preservative, so much a few drops dripped off when i opened it. better to be safe. glad i snagged one, we're go...

Re: Rank the existing FRN colors

i'm liking that zome thats out currently, the dark muted green i guess for lack of a better description. don't know how much i'll like it when those funky, bright colors are introduced down the line. the burnt orange is pretty cool, also. not really a fan of bright colors but do like the yellow used...

Re: Paramilitary 2 lemon

while were on the subject.....i picked up a paramilitary 2 black blade a few weeks ago. the only other golden knives i have to compare it with are a para 3 and a manix 2 xl and the quality is identical between all, super nice knives. my concern with the pm 2 is the blade markings, they appear to be ...

waiting on the black blade digi para 3 myself, only cause it looks cool. i think i'll die of old age before i see that and the caly 3 i've pre-ordered. i've consoled myself with a s30v para 3, delica & endura green zome's, manix 2 xl, caly 3.5 hap40 , delica burnt orange hap40, h1 ladybug serrated ...

Re: Isn't it time for new sprints of Delica & Endura?

i'm a simple person and would like a delica wharncliffe in h1. leave the handle frn and color...black works or even put one on in yellow, makes no difference. my wharncliffe spends a lot of time in the kitchen slicing and cutting fruits and cooked/raw veggies so it spends a good deal of time being r...

Re: question for the junkies regarding zdp189

yeah, definitely not fingerprints or dust. this "haze" reminds me sorta of when someone puts their eyeglasses up to their mouth and breathes on the lenses before cleaning them. does that analogy make sense? but only it doesn't seem like moisture. anyway stored in the box inside the plastic sleeve. n...

Re: question for the junkies regarding zdp189

Not sure what that could be then since it doesn't seem to be related to a specific steel type, since there's a very corrosion resistant steel and a lesser resistant steel present in the same blade. You may try adding one of those silica packets in with your knife (assuming you store them in the box...

Re: question for the junkies regarding zdp189

Is the haze on the 420J2 part or on the ZDP part? ZDP is technically a stainless steel but probably among the lowest resistant stainless steels out there. As such it's definitely susceptible to rust and possibly patina. How easily does it wipe off? Are you using polish to get rid of it? this haze b...

question for the junkies regarding zdp189

my unused caly 3.5's blade keeps getting a haze on it. this haze will wipe off and the blade becomes bright again but it will come back with time. i have no experience with zdp189 and wonder if this is a characteristic of the steel. humidity has been high in the northeast and i'm wondering if this h...

Re: Help to determine authenticity of PM2

to me your knife looks legit but i guess that door is always open. the logos on your blade, the one that says "spyderco" on one side and "golden colorado" on the other are skewed off center of that grind line. on mine they are centered with that. not to be alarmed with that. i don't know spydercos a...

Re: Help to determine authenticity of PM2

any knife i've received from amazon has the tape if the box is a slider like the one spyderco uses. i've never really questioned it honestly because since they throw the knife in a padded envelope to ship instead of a box, on single knife shipments, i assumed they didn't want the box to pop open and...

Re: Folders to Fixed Blades. What Spydies Would You Convert?

my buddy examined my para 3 last week and made a comment on how it would make a super skinner and with that chiol to choke up, a caper....if it were a fixed blade. i don't hunt large game, just bird hunt......and occasionally fresh water fish, so can't comment. but, we both use fixed when it comes t...
