Re: Wearing blades out

Also they probably know how to sharpen well enough as to not do what my dad used to do to his “roast beef knife” on a coarse grinding wheel every Sunday. I used to do that with my cheap Swiss Army knife when I worked on a farm. For an unnamed China steel, it worked very well for me. Kind of like a ...

The Chaparral sure looks like a smooth arc to me. I see no "hump".

Re: People still like Benchmade?

The Mini Crooked River is the best looking knife on the market right now, IMO. Really wish I had the $200 for it.

Never understood the attraction, Cu is (very) heavy, soft and poisonous.

Same reason people love copper Zippos. They all take on their own unique look. I agree I wouldn't want it on a knife, though.

the price is right up there with a Para Military 2.

I think they should be compared more to something like Spyderco's sprint runs. For most of the GEC knives, they only make one run and that's the end of the model.

Re: Delica 4 Sale question

Speaking of deals.... BladeHQ has a big discount on their Polestar stocking bundle. $50 + shipping (normally $70)! The Polestar alone is $65 retail everywhere you look. I'd buy it if I didn't already have a Polestar. Buy 2 and it's even free shipping cause it's over that $99 mark. But getting to you...

If not that... you can still find the bushcraft, but that would not be an ideal fishman's knife. However, it is an excellent oudoor woodman's tool.

But 01 is not stainless at all.

Re: Gift for a friend

The green tenacious, black blade, partially serrated looks like it should appease the less then average knife nut. Any other ideas? That was actually going to be my next purchase, minus the black coating. Partially serrated knives work a lot better for game processing in the field for me. Ever try ...

Re: Gift for a friend

Well, a Polestar is $65 everywhere I look, so not quite in your under $60 budget. But I do think it would be a good gift. For a guy that has Cold Steel, a Dragonfly 2 might be too small.

Re: What would make you buy more Spyderco fixed blades?

In short words: As long as fixed blades have the useless hole in it, I'm not interested. Spyderco insists on it and it is their good right. Pretty sure I heard the hole must be on everything to keep the trademark status. If they only use the hole selectively, it would be hard to defend it as a true...

Re: Are you cheating on the bug?

Griptilian 553s $68 on backcountry.com Ah. But that's a limited time sale price cause I assume the tanto edge doesn't sell well at regular price. I mean, Amazon has the gray Delica on sale now for $64.95 (both sold and shipped by Amazon), but it would be unfair to use that as the benchmark for what...

I carry a griptilian somewhat often lately as well. It cost less than a delica

Where do you see a Griptilian or Mini Griptilian costing less than a Delica? Cheapest I see a Mini Grip is in the mid $80's, meanwhile a Delica is $75.

Re: The Shibui knife

I do not dislike the Tenacious or Polestar, but neither of them has anything on the Raven 2 for me. IMO, the Raven 2 is Spyderco's/Sal's home run in this segment. Some people, like me, really don't like that finger choil taking away blade edge on the Raven. There is plenty of handle on the Polestar...

Re: Is it Time for a New Camo Pattern?

From the outside looking in, the digital camo looks much better, especially for a knife. That "new" camo looks very old-school and I personally wouldn't be inclined to buy it. But I can see the merit in wanting current military issue camo.

If you haven't seen the other knife reviews on his channel, you're missing out. His humor is awesome. I think he's the best reviewer on YouTube. And no, I'm not him and have no affiliation with him.

Re: The Shibui knife

My big question for you, however, is what you perceive the key differences being between the Tenacious (which I love), and the Polestar. They look very similar in size, blade shape, and potentially ergonomics. I think if you can differentiate it from some of the other budget line knives, it may get...

. Real or fake, I’m sure they probably would like to see it anyways. I have no doubts they’ll take care of you either way.

But Spyderco wouldn't replace a fake, would they? Why not just send it back to the seller for a refund?

Just look at what spyderco has done with S110V and tell me you'd still prefer S30V. Interesting. Back on Apr 28, 2015 you commented in a thread called "S30v vs s110v" and said you found s110v to perform like s30v. I mean, you didn't like either of them, but you didn't think s110v was better. I have...

Sounds fake. I think I would have sent it back to the seller for a refund. 3rd party sellers on Amazon are notorious for fakes.
