Re: Caribbean at last

Despite a shot of Nano Oil on each washer, it doesn’t drop shut like my Golden compression locks do. It requires a firm shake to move the unlocked blade even a little, and I hope it breaks in over time. The Golden models have a pivot bushing, which the Caribbean doesn't have. They made a CQI to the...

The reAson I buy several is to get one without lock stick and with a centered blade. Sometimes quantity is needed.

So you're already planning on returning or flipping 2 of them?

Re: Canis Love...will there be Sprint runs?

One thing you could definitely do with the S30V base model Canis to make it a little more special or unique for you is pick up some aftermarket scales. I have a base-model Para 3 that I through some Micarta scales on. There may not be aftermarket scales made for it. It'll depend on how popular it g...

Re: PRICING

I think maybe you should be questioning why aftermarket clip manufactures are charging you the price of a knife (Byrd Robin is $26)for a bent piece of metal with three holes in it? I recently bought a titanium spork that contains far more titanium and is at least as complicated as a pocket clip for...

Re: Sal, any word on a Caribbean XL?

Well, I have some bad news. The proposed XL model would only have a larger blade and not a larger handle. Apparently the handle has some extra room. But he has also said the idea was scrapped for now due to there not being much of a demand. This was a thread back in 2018. https://www.bladeforums.com...

Being cheaper is one up on the Spydiechef.
The SpydieChef is $234.50 MAP. The Caribbean is $182 MAP.

"I have a design for Polestar back-lock planned for Golden"
I wonder why it’s being redesigned as a back-lock rather than a compression lock, or even just keeping the same liner lock.
Yea this is so close to my imagined perfect Spyderco... the Polestar with a comp lock. So close :(

Re: PRICING

I would imagine that milling aluminum scales is cheaper than doing steel liners and G10/FRN/CF scales. They also have steel liners. I actually thought the opposite. Milling aluminum must be considerably more expensive than FRN, seeing as how the FRN Link is about $10 cheaper than the aluminum Link....

Re: PRICING

My most recent Spyderco purchase was a Native 5 LW in REX-45 and I paid $112 at an online authorized dealer. Show me a knife for a lower price that gives me similar or better cutting power in terms of edge retention and strength while also being safe to reliably open and close with one hand under s...

Re: PRICING

There is a big difference between a $80 Kershaw in M390 and a $150 Spyderco in M390. While they are both pocket knives, there's a whole lot more to it with a Spyderco. Generally speaking, you're getting more for your money with a Spyderco. The design is more intelligent, the ergonomics are more nat...

Looks identical to this one. At 11:50 you can get a good view of the spine and both sides are the same thickness and there is no chamfering.

Would recommend adding the backlock scales and pivot if you want to use a handle.
I think there is a reason their glasses weren't full. If someone attempts to use the blade as a handle, I wouldn't trust it to hold up with a full glass.

I feel the same way. I just wish it was offered in brighter colors. Makes them a little easier to find if dropped in the grass. Well, you're in luck at Cutlery Shoppe. They have the Tenacious in orange g10 and it's exclusive to them. They currently have the satin blade in stock for $45.50, but the ...

Re: New to Spyderco and the forum

My previously mentioned research led me to a better understanding of the S30V steel, but I still was skeptical. That is, until I decided to test the sharpness by shaving the hair on my arm. A couple Band-Aids later, I understood what all the fuss was about. This is one seriously sharp knife. I have...
