Re: Fire Starting Gear

Ive got a ferro rod laying around just to have it. Some storm proof matches as well. A small magnifying glass as well. But I agree with a cheap bic lighter. Maybe get one of those storm proof lighters that wont get blown out by the wind and are water tight if you were worried about that. I dont ever...

Re: Threaded Inserts for Clip Screws List

More specifically. If its linerless and doesnt have the barrel bolt clip or the wire clip, then it probably has threaded inserts. This should be a long list.

Re: Vivi's M4 Manix XL DLC Corrosion Log

I kind of got the impression from one of the dlc discusiion threads that you should give it a preliminary oiling even if you dont want to do it regularly.

It will be interesting to see.

Re: Please Pardon the shameful sales pitch - Rock Jumper

BladeHQ is one of the only dealers which actually goes through the time and trouble to measure knives independently for specs. In the case of the RockJumper they show the blade length as 2.83” instead of the Spyderco published 3.08”. If the 2.83” is accurate (usually is with BHQ) then that’s good n...

Re: [video] New blade material: A new kind of very tough and flexible ceramic made available for knives

On the off chance someone tried to produce knives with this I think the price would be way out of hand.

Its cool and all, but like aerogel and a lot of other cutting edge materials, Im sure I cant afford it.

Re: Which Spydercos Are In Your EDC Rotation?

I feel like these have gotten the most use.

There are some in the pic like the snapit salt and atlantic salt that I dont edc at all. Those 2 lived on my dry bag for years so they have gotten a lot of use.

Even though they are very similar... the native 5 and chaparral are completely different knives. Get a native 5, beat on it, enjoy it.

Re: Is the Caribbean for me?

I've gone through a lot of work knives. None have quite hit the sweet spot for me. Right now I use a manix lw in s90v but the action gets gummed up pretty easy, I still fight corrosion on the blade tang and the internals, and the frcp is nowhere near grippy enough. So, the Caribbean seems to be for...
