Re: Does Made in America Need to be Expensive?

Sal It was an expression more than anything to highlight the differences, although it was used by the CEO of a company here the other day in a meeting when I commented on containers of beer from Asia NOT being on pallets where as those from Europe are. Difference in unloading is 3 hours vs 1/2 an ho...

Adding in some new open mindedness with warranty repair probably didn’t help them.
What do you mean by this ?

Especially "open mindedness with warranty repair"

It's a good question and one that can be applied to a number of products in the outdoor, hunting, fishing industry.

Bearface

I agree, maybe not a loss leader but certainly little or no profit as a brand builder.

I think consumers generally now know the price of everything but the value (read quality) of nothing!

Re: Does Made in America Need to be Expensive?

Unless you want wages in the US to drop to Asian/Chinese levels of a few cents an hour, then yes, expect to pay more for US made items. Ive had products made in the US and China, with the US you know its going to be a certain quality, with China you get what you pay for - and you can choose the leve...

Yea no joy on those scales. My heart jumped when I saw “burled” because I thought that meant stabilized wood. I’ll pass.
That makes 2 of us.

I would love a Spyderco with Burled scales. I can get the Red gum Burl, just need someone to make them.

I do sometimes miss the service, if for nothing else, for our antics and camaraderie.
That is so true.

Was discussing this the other day with a couple of people who work with me and the "banter", jokes etc
that keep the workplace fun.

Ouch. Here is a picture to maybe show the difference. I'm not sure if the way I'm describing it makes sense.
Yes, your description is fine.

As I said, Ive noticed a difference. Id take your first one in preference to the less ground / (under ground?)
one you just posted.

Re: Tasman Salt Tip

In what way exactly ? The grinding on an angle, not straight ?

Ive noticed variation in serrations on various Endura's I've been looking at.
Must admit haven't taken too much notice on tips.

Re: Dollar Tree Counterfeit of Spyderco Delica?

They are crap. I have one with "Maxam" on it, a company I dealt from the US years ago that makes cheap copies of everything.
I bought it for that exact reason, to see how crap it what.

They set the bar low and still failed to achieve it !

The plastics crap, the blade is loose (side to side).

Can you post photo of knife ?

A small knife won't always dispatch a large dog immediately - as it won't keel over and go toes up straight away, especially a trained dog.

If you have a problem with wild dogs that attack pad your arm to give them something to bite onto then go from there.

Re: Fake endura 4?

Thanks guys yeah I got it for $40 Australian dollars ($31 USD) and that’s a very good price here, I don’t think the pawn shop knew what a spyderco knife was and it is in good condition after I cleaned it and sharpened it on my sharpmaker. Thanks Sal and everyone for the welcome! They don't seem to ...
