Re: Very Disappointed

Well, that's kinda how these things go here. Someone comes to Spyderville with a bad experience, and gets showered with huge amount of the exact opposite good experiences. The citizens of this space are very protective of their shrine. It's understandable. Wouldn’t necessarily agree with that. For ...

Re: Knives you wish you could like

A few of the smaller knives (smaller than Endura). Admittedly I have rarely handled them as shops here don't carry them
but never had a good run with more dainty knives.

Spyderco Caribbean - I like it but something about the handle puts me off until I see one in the hand.

One could argue that in a perfect world, you'd receive a knife with a weak detent and a dull edge. Then you could sharpen the edge and tune the detent the way you prefer.

Very good.

Re: Very Disappointed

Just want to add my experiences: After one clip screw both of a Stretch and a Delica got lost (Spyderco sent replacements plus locktite for free), to be on the safe side, I unscrewed the clips on probably all of my Spydies and screwed them in again with loctite. Absolutely no issues with stripping ...

Re: Very Disappointed

So, unless the OP comes back on the thread, we (not me but some might be) are left with a thread where a first time user who reads the first entry
gets the impression that Spyderco has a quality problem which looking at experienced "tinkerers" they don't.

Re: Very Disappointed

Did you use a quality Torx driver like Wiha brand? I've never had an issue when using a Wiha driver. I do hope the OP comes back and answers this question - asked by a few people - because from what I read by others who take apart/change clips regularly, it’s not the screws that are the problem but...

Re: Serrated January

[quote="JD Spydo" post_id=1294104 time=1546121629 user_id=301 I'm just wishing that Spyderco would eventually look into newer serration patterns to try out on different full SE models. [/quote] What were you thinking ? In view of the fact that I think Sal? admitted some SE patterns are better than o...

Re: Very Disappointed

Have you contacted Spyderco directly.

And if so what did they say ?

I understand the need to vent frustration but it doesn’t actually solve the problem or progress to a solution.

I am spyderedge guy and I allways have some teeth on me. I allways said that a spyderedge can do what a plain edge does but not the other way around.
Agree with you. Maybe not quite as nice/fine but it does it.

Re: price increase?!

Cold Steel makes g-10 knives with cpms steels using the same Taiwanese labor as Spyderco, but at 75-90 bucks they're $100 cheaper. So either Lynn is starving his workers to death or something else is going on here, like maybe gouging the market because you think you'll be on top forever, hmmmm. So ...

Re: Serrated January

I’ve really been using a lot of SE lately. Weird, because I’m a PE guy. Sal’s fault, as I’ve said before (the SE part ;)). Keep them sharp and they’re enjoyable. They work well when blunt as well, that's what I love about SE. Can't wait to get a bunch of SE knives a mate in the US has of mine, incl...

Re: price increase?!

That’s not a universal truth- Look at the sales of cars, technology, housing or food for a few examples- lowest price isn’t directly proportionate to highest sales at all. I think you should be chasing a refund on “muh basic economics class” The elephant in the room is that the amount and timing of...

Re: price increase?!

We'll watch for it Tom. I have no problem explaining pricing. Some like "Nope" think I'm lying, but there is not much I can do for him. As I've said; "The goal is to be consistent like the sun and transparent like the air. That's how trust is created". I try very hard to meet that criteria. We have...

Re: price increase?!

I live with the prices. Nobody forces me to buy anything and crying about it doesn't change anything. Speak with your wallet and that's all there is to it. What bothers me the most is how so many awesome models are coming out and getting discontinued due to poor sales. I would have loved to see spr...

Re: price increase?!

I haven't really noticed a price increase in Europe, specifically the Netherlands. A pm2 in s30v was €170-175 years back and still is now. I did notice the price increases on USA based stores. Does this mean eu prices have been overcharging all along? Perhaps. I'm wondering how this will go on in t...

Re: price increase?!

PM2 S30V 210€ (239$) PM2 maxamet in Austria/Germany 300€ (340$) Prices in EU are a bit more stable but higher already. We always pay more then US. For cars, clothes, ... Why do you expect to pay the same as the US ? That's because you have higher costs to cover - like significantly higher wages, VA...

Re: price increase?!

Out of curiosity is there a specific reason or is it just racial prejudice? Wow. I blame the media for everyone immediately trying to label everything "racist" these days. Absolutely. It is a tool to build anger within, control, and divide the citizenry, ultimately taking power from the individual ...

Re: yet another "price increase"

CG P.S. I think there are much bigger issues that need complaining about ... like medical health care premiums. Won't be long and very few of us will have disposable income if current trends continue ... but everyone seems willing to pay their monthly's. Good knives aren't robbing us poor. Well sai...
