So what's the ideal steel for a ladybug, practicality wise? I'd love the idea of k390 or zdp, but it sits at the bottom of a pocket where it could get damp in the summer, and it doesn't really jive with the often carried, rarely used nature of the ladybug - vg10 I guess? Or h1? But then you give up ...

The grooves make a sak 58mm more comfortable for me, but totally usable with a fob

It's painfully average, but let's be honest, most people are barely exploring the limits M390 is popular because more chromium carbides means easier to sharpen for the average consumer It's like the difference between a car with good mid end torque and decent horsepower vs a car with no low end torq...

I don't get the copper love. I'm an electrician, I work with copper all the time. It's a stinky metal. It's heavy. It can be really nasty when it tarnishes. It's very soft. What is the allure of copper knives? Brass is fine, I love my buck 110s. But copper just baffles me. It's only good for wiring...

I would not consider the French traditionals budget though - I definitely want a fontenille pataud - so nice and that gorgeous thin grind

Ruike/real steel/ kershaw seem to be the only ones using 14c28n

I'm guessing 1095's popularity over 52100 is purely cost driven - not amazing edge retention, not amazing toughness
