Re: Community Sharpening Journal

Nice looking edge! Glad it gave you good results. I haven't gotten shaving sharpness off the 200 side, but the 300 gets me at least hair scraping sharp, and a bit of stropping gets it to cleanly shaving. These edges are fun to use! Thanks man! It’s definitely a different edge than I get off either ...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

Ok. So I only live a mile from harbor freight. Went and picked one up, and reprofiled my Hap40 Endura. Pretty impressive for only $13.04 w/tax. A little smaller than I’m used to for a reprofiling stone. I use a Norton coarse crystolon 4”x11” usually. The 200# is extremely coarse. Couldn’t get a hair...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

I've been raving about these stones for a while. I like them enough I just picked up another one. I needed to stop in Harbor Freight for some more hammock ropes. I'm going to use this one exclusively for sharpening, and the old one for reprofiling knives. If you get one I'd try to buy it in person....

Re: Rock Jumper comparison thread + general info

I am left handed and switched the clip over for left side carry. My artistic sense is urging me to switch the scale and pivot screws so that the show side has the buttons instead of the screw heads. Any reason I shouldn't do this? My plan would be to do one at a time so I don't run into any reassem...

Man, this tiny thing is growing on me http://everydaycarrot.net/onewebmedia/3FE05B64-7C3B-475C-B4F3-96885BF59656-COLLAGE.jpg ... I gotta ask, where did you get that lanyard bead? Re: New Spyderco Knives: Reveal #6 in 2020 Coming Soon

Thanks for sharing this! I really enjoy listening to Eric talk and absolutely love his enthusiasm. :spyder: Non-knife question, can anyone tell if that’s a Spyderco hat Eric is wearing? Would be pretty cool if it was, and is going to be offered for sale. His boyish excitement is somewhat contagious...

Also, just whipped this up real quick to get a slightly better idea of the artwork on the hat.

That’s awesome! I see it now. Thank you! I’m definitely in for that black one. And most likely the gray too.

Re: Rock Jumper comparison thread

Wow! Great lineup of comparisons! Thank you for doing all that for us! Looks as though I will like it after seeing it next to the stretch. I was one of those who was thinking it would be more Delica-like, and wasn’t as interested. Thanks again! :spyder:

Re: S90V and S125V – History and Properties

Thanks for sharing Larrin! Do you think the nitrogen addition to s90 should be revisited again(s90vn)? Would that make it easier to grind/work with, and therefore make it a more attractive option to more production companies? Given that the nitrogen version had better wear resistance, at least in t...

Re: DLT Exclusive Delica OD Green FRN and Coated Cruwear

Getting some wear and tear on the blade from materials being cut throughout the week. Interested in how the coating will look after I clean it up Friday night. I'll post a before and after on how the coating fared. jpeg That’s awesome Rick! Can’t wait to see your results. Here’s an older pic of the...

You said he already tried to find one in your collection. What did he not like about the WolfSpyder?

Edit to add: If you can find one, the Lil’ Nilakka is another option too

Re: S45VN Forest Green G-10 (Diamond Arc Pattern)

I’m in for the Military 1000%. I’m also in for a Lil’ Native. I think the diamond texture would be an excellent feature on the smaller platform knifes.
