Re: FRCP vs. FRN

I like both.
Love how the frcp on my Native 5 feels.
Love how all my Seki models feel.
Not a fan of givory or whatever other companies are calling their formulas. It doesn't feel as good.

But Spyderco can keep both or do away with one or the other. I'll take either.

Re: Guys who put lanyards on your knives, why?

Never used a lanyard/fob on a Spyderco.
I did try some leather tied to a knot on some of my traditionals with holes and bails. I thought it would look cool. Absolutely annoying.

I sometimes carry a Buck 110 in 420HC so I guess that's my lowest.
I just picked up a new 420HC knife today. Also grabbed a carbon Mora.
What'd ya grab in 420hc? First thought when I hear that steel is buck.

Re: Urban LW + N680 (or LC200N)

Why the Urban over the UKPK? I'd buy an LC200n Urban but would prefer the UKPK, and with the AEB-L Urban coming out, shouldn't the UKPK get some sprint love? Besides, Spyderco already had the steel in Golden. Like I said, I'll buy this if they make it. Just wanting to know why there seems to be an U...

Re: Dyad II or New Concept Double Blade Folder?

Ditch the lanyard, I saw.
It someone needs to tie it to their bodies, they can tie it to the spydiehole of the blade they're least likely to use.

Re: Cabron steel and temperature changes.

I doubt the temparture but moisture/humidity will. Most new carbon blades come with some level of coating but I'd put a fresh coat on when you get them.

Re: A Little Wharncliffe Love

Well, I have 4 of them myself. Three serrated and one hap 40. I feel like with the three serrated, I've enough for life (shame on me if I go through more than three). One in the kitchen utility drawer, one with a Emerson delica scale swap that I edc, and one new in box. Haven't really used the hap40...

Re: Hey, JD, what do you think of these serrations?

I'm with you on serrated 3v being cool. I'd give it a go. Too bad it is a broken tip spear point and not a sheepsfoot. The idea of a modern 2 bladed jack is awesome.

Re: Traditional EDC fixed blades

I'll probably pick up one of those Moki knives next month or tax return time. Unless I grab the Arno Benard Bush Baby Galago or Gecko. Also, check out Arno Benard's knives. Many are exoensive but they def make ones around $120-$140. They're supposed to be quite nice. Most are n690, I believe. The bu...

Give the Moki and GEC a shot and tell me what you think.

I heard the Helles are good but most have Scandi grinds.

You didn’t say back lock, bro. That would work great, except all the retooling and expense of FRN molds. Would be a nice knife though.
I thought it was assumed I meant backlock. ;)
Even if it really worked to do a salt cbbl, I'm much more interested in a manix lw backlock salt.

Re: About the Kapara...

If there ever would be a sprint, I assume they would stay with a stainless steel since the model was primarily created for the kitchen and food prep. Not an expert on kitchen knifes, but isn´t there like two camps among chefs, one side swears by stainless, the other by carbon (NON rustproof) knifes...

Re: Which multi-tool do you EDC?

I regret not buying any of the black multi tools. They look good and help fight that rust that Leathermen accumulate by looking at them. But now I have the rebar, surge, and Swisstool. I just can't justify another multitool. The black Swisstool spirit looks so good though. TV and SV on multitools is...
