Yes! I'd like more longer, thinner blades in Super Blue.

Police 4 LW!
This! I saw an Endura in SB on /r/knife_swap the other day. The price was pretty good too (like $85).

Re: Forum knife 2020 - model poll

I wish there was an "Other" category. Given the number of prominent knife makers who have passed away, I think the next forum knife should be a re-release of a collaboration that Spyderco has done with one of these makers. Wayne Goddard comes to mind.

HAP-40 wood scales please. All the other classics are already available this way.
I think that's a Knife Center exclusive. As long as you convince them of the need for this, I'm sure Spyderco will make a run of this Endela.

Re: Siren?

So the second page of text (with the P4 LW) in the new catalog mentions the availability of knives. We decided that our yearly product guide, like this one, will focus exclusively on products that are in active inventory and ready, or almost ready, to be purchased. That's about as good as it gets fo...

Re: ZDP-189 - Overrated or Super Steel?

Here’s a good question...would you all rather have ZDP-189, or M390, Cruwear, or something else? Hard to see most steels being more preferable than Cruwear right now (especially if it comes with micarta scales - that combo is getting a lot of love). I wouldn't be surprised to see ZDP starting to ge...

I think the first S45VN knife will be the PM2 (really going out there on a limb, aren't I?).

Re: Big Spydie fever

I do not own, nor have I tried the Chief. I do have a P4 LW, and I love it. It has one of the most comfortable handles I have used. I think this is because it works for such a large range of grips, hand sizes, if you use gloves or not, etc. I also love the way it carries. It is thin and light. It do...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

My question is this>> Are there any "Natural" stones that can compete with some of the newer ceramic and CBN stones. Belgian Coticule stones have a good reputation. KKnives Switzerland does the extreme HT like DBH and he likes the Belgian stones. Never tried it myself, so I can't say for sure if th...

C121 Terzuola Slipit as a lockback or liner lock :)
Has Spyderco ever released a locking version of a Slipit knife before? I know the Kapara will get a non-locking version (or at least a prototype is floating around).

How about a Franken-Return? I like the Wayne Goddard design, but I want the micarta from the first editions and the full-flat grind and Boye dent of the later models.

Re: couple sharpening questions

Get proficient on the SM. If that works for you, great. If, as is often the case on this forum, you start to go down the rabbit hole of sharpening, then you can start experimenting. Here is a way to experiment with different angles without having to buy new sharpening equipment (the video should sta...

Not likely. It will take that long to get thorough prototyping.

Out of curiosity, what is the average time a new knife spends in prototyping? Would the prototyping be any faster if the knife is based on an already existing model?

Re: Are you done with 2019, Spydie wise? What do you wish for in 2020?

I'm all done for 2019. To be honest, I can't really think of a folding knife I will get in 2020. The last thing I want is a large collection of knives that don't get used. I'm an office drone, so there are not many reasons to use a knife during the workday. Plus, I live in the Boston area, which has...

Re: Tell us about your Spyderco Knife of the Year 2019

Another vote for the P4 LW. This was easily the largest knife I have owned. I was a bit worried that it would be too big, too unwieldy. It didn't take long before I could use and operate the knife with ease. The things that really stand out are the ergonomics and how "small" it feels. Ergos were the...

Re: How was your 2019?

I moved to the Boston area, which has really affected how I am collecting/carrying knives. I sold off some knives before the move. Sadly, my beloved Sage 2 doesn't leave my apartment (sigh...). But I got myself an Urban in AEB-L to try out the steel and get a knife that is legal to carry. I also tal...

Have you found a steel or family of steels that don't do as well with a coarser edge?

Well said, while I love Spyderco product and respect Sal, I actively dislike the way business is being conducted in this past year.
And by "the way business is being conducted" do you mean the high number of exclusives that sell out so quickly?
