Re: Reveal 6 Live!

The Texas flag is a CQI. Spoken like a true Texan. Real Texans say it while standing in Durango Colorado though....... If you're questioning my Texas authenticity, I'll have you know at 13 yrs. old during my first visit to Colorado, I questioned the sanity of a Wendy's cashier for not having a Texa...

Probably the only one excited about the blacked out bug series. I'll wait for the Colorado PM2 CQI with the Texas flag. :)

Re: Reveal 6 Live!

I was shocked to see the Sage 1 in Maxamet. That immediately got me thinking that we may see another Sage 2. Don't really care for Maxamet, but nothing would grab my attention like a new Sage 2. I am really interested in what some sharpeners have to say about the CBN benchstone. There are a lot of g...

Re: Function & Practicality Aspects of EDC

I don't do a lot of cutting on a day-to-day basis, so blade length or steel type don't really factor into the equation. For me, the ultimate EDC is the Sage 2 (sadly, local laws don't allow blades that long). Here's why I like it so much: Comfort in hand - I want a knife that feel comfortable in han...

Do we have insight on the 30 day vs 60 day vs 90 day project Duration versus Fund Rate completion on this thought exercise? Social seems to point that the shorter window, the higher probability of full funding?
I just pulled the number 60 out of thin air. If 30 is better, then go with that.

Re: Is it possible we're stretching spyderco a little thin...?

i have said in the past that i wish spyderco would slow down with dealer exclusives and sprint runs so they could focus more time and energy on making more production variations. Due to the limited nature of these knives, they tend to sell out really fast. To Spyderco, that's a good thing; there is...

Re: Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?

Let me start off by saying that I know nothing when it comes to the production and marketing of physical goods. I would imagine that the biggest obstacle to seeing very specific configurations of a particular model is risk. You don't want to be stuck with inventory that can't be sold at a price that...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

I like my P4LW which is around 0.38. An increase to .4 or .41 sounds good. As long as it remains on the thinner side (< 0.5), it should be good. Thanks for taking the measurements.

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Couple of questions about anodized aluminum handles. How cold do they get in the winter? Do you need to wear a glove? Have you seen a knife with aluminum scales that doesn't have screws that go directly in the aluminum? Protech makes some really neat looking knives, but I worry about the threading i...

You will love it I can assure you.
I've never owned a hollow ground blade before. That is one of the major selling points for me. I've been wanting to try one. It is also VG-10 and a Seki back lock, both of which I really like. It's kind of a no-brainer when I think about it.

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Hats off to you JD. You have personally willed this re-release into existence. I never gave this thread much thought. I considered the Ayood to be too weird for me (plus I don't have any illusions about myself, my knife, and self-defense). But the longer the thread got the more interested I was as t...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Spyderco should decide on a steel/handle combo of their own like a dealer exclusive would be, but do a run of a classic model once a year in that combo. There are so many models that I think newcomers would be interested in if they were made available, and if not this sort of maker exclusive would ...

As my love for the Seki models continues to grow I've become more open to jumping on new models in the base version rather than wait around for sprints/exclusives.
I find myself in the same boat. I hope you enjoy the P4LW as much as I do, and you enjoy the Endela as much as Wartstein.

I don't know how well the jade color would translate to FRN or FRCP. So I am guessing that the next one will be a model with G10.

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Before this thread loses steam I want to also talk about other "bells & whistles" that could enhance the C-60 Ayoob model. I've wondered if a lanyard made specifically for that model might be a good idea? I'm also wondering if an embossed Spydie logo on the handle might add some collector appeal to...

I would think that we will see SPY27 Seki knives eventually.
SPY-27 is their signature steel, and the Seki knives are some of their most iconic knives. I would think that the two will converge at some point in the future. When? I have no idea, but I don't think it will be soon.

Re: Where does SPY27 Steel sits among the current Steel lines?

I hope we will see it in the Seki stuff soon as more US steels make their way into those models. This. It's been a while since I got myself a new knife. I've been thinking I should treat myself to something nice. But what I really want is SPY-27 in the Seki line. First, I'm curious about the steel,...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

My calipers are at work, but they’re real close! Any word on the handle thickness? The P4LW is about 0.38 inches (taken from a YT review, I don't have calipers). I find this to be a good size. Slimmer than normal, but still comfortable in hand. I'd be interested to see what the Ayoob measures. Your...
