Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

Evil D and Randioactive, I have also noticed that it takes more pressure than my PM2 to disengage the compression lock. Take a moment to look at Kevin Ceary's review of the Sliverax on YouTube, he brought up a point that I haven't noticed that the compression lock cut out is smaller on the Sliverax ...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

Reassembly....Phil Wood bearing grease. Bearings = grease. Loved your video Evil D! Also thanks for the tip here on the bearing grease. What are the pros/cons of this compared to Vaseline? I also applied some benchmade blue lube, and while it helped, it's not quite to where yours is, or to where my ...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

I've been carrying mine since I got it. Yesterday we got some rain so it saw quite a lot of moisture, and developed a bit of rust but oddly enough only on the engraved lettering on the presentation side of the blade and nowhere else. I think I'll have a video up tomorrow with some thoughts on it. L...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

KC just told me that preordering just "saves my spot in line." They were cordial and quickly cancelled my pre order. Sliverax just purchased from National Knives and hppefullybwill ship quickly! I'm glad to hear the action is as smooth in person as the GPK video shows! High quality production from t...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

A couple of questions to the maker: Can you explain the reason for the internal stop pin? and It seems that between the milling for the bearings, internal stop pin and lock cutout there is left a very thin piece of steel in that area. Do you feel like this could be a concern in long term use? It is...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

Well boys, I finally preordered it from KC! By the time I checked the email from GPK, it was already sold out again. Looking forward to it Paul! Cheers!

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

Also, going to the question about the texture of the Carbon Fiber, below is a quote from the forum of "Anyone handles a Hanan or Sliverax?": "Sliverax in the Amsterdam meet in february. Very nice knife, sleek and clever design foldeld but a natural feeling in the hand. Sophisticated design combining...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

For everyone interested in the price, check this out from Blade HQ! I tried copying and pasting the link, but it didn't come through. So Search for Spyderco Sliverax, and the price comes up on Blade HQ for $149.97! So slightly more expensive than what the Sage 5 is, with getting a flipper that is ru...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

Embracing the Suess I see. The knife does look really smooth without the lanyard hole. Completely unnecessary feature in my opinion and a ruiner of aesthetics. I agree on this point! But that's just me. Thanks for the reply Paul, I really appreciate your openness in responding. I would prefer a dee...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

Paul, I'm very excited about this design, especially when I saw that you mentioned that it will run on bearings! A Spyderco with carbon fiber handles, that runs on bearings, that you can deploy by flipping, slow-opening with the thumb stub, the spydie flick, a traditional thumb flick or flinging the...
