There's nothing wrong with it at all. I just find it a bit over the top to be thanking a business for selling you their product.

Re: In case it doesn't go without saying, thanks Spyderco.

Not to be overly cynical, but you do realize that Spyderco is a "for profit" organization, right? It's a business (with fierce competition). Spyderco customers pay good money for Spyderco products.

Re: Show your Mule

I received a most awesome gift from my friend farnorthdan! To honor this awesome gift of kindness I finished it with handle and a sheath. Thanks to the amazingly kind gesture from Dan this is without question my sentimental favorite knife. Chad What is this gorgeous honeycomb material? Do you have ...

Re: Delica 4 fake or old stock?

I'd remove some of the grease to prevent lint issues, if that white/gray goo is grease. A little goes a long way. And Imho, you don't need lubricant right on that spot. That's Frog Lube. I stuck some in there with a toothpick after practicing my whetstone sharpening and getting the entire knife soa...

Re: Delica 4 fake or old stock?

You need to assemble the knife entirely other than the lock bar. You put the lockbar in last. You insert the lockbar and then press the d-bolt through. You can find some videos on youtube showing this method. Its actually fairly easy if you do it this way. I watched a couple of videos (including Ni...

Re: Delica 4 fake or old stock?

Those pics are the reasons Spyderco doesn't want people taking them apart. You have to do it in a specific order, if you don't it ends up like yours. Now, imagine the amount of people that have taken stuff apart and not properly reassembled it and then sold it to someone else. You say this like I c...

Re: Delica 4 fake or old stock?

Wow lol. I bought a used Endura once that had the backspace tabs not engaged with the scales. I had great trouble reassembling my Delica. Aligning all the pins while trying to prevent the spring bar from jumping out of place is very hard. I thought I managed but now I see that one of the spacer tab...

Which shop is that? W&W?
Yeah
The VG10 Wharncliffe Delica is priced at $93.66 CDN there. What price do you predict a HAP40 Delica would be?

Re: Hap40 Wharncliffe Delica

What's with this cladding BS? Is it the same kind of thing Spyderco does with their "Damascus" blades. They should really call those "Vegetarian Damascus".
What's with these "sprints" anyway? Why not let me choose a Delica in S35/S90/M4/VG10 and in any scale color that I want?

Re: Delica Wharncliffe Has Dropped (pics)

What is the advantage of a Wharncliffe blade? It seems to me that in order to optimize the cutting edge you need to give it a little belly, and to optimize the spine you have to reduce the meat near the tip. What you end up with is the drop-point shape of the regular Delica.

I found his price for the Lil Para/Delica scales to be quite reasonable. You might want to send him a PM and find out what they actually cost.
That is a good idea. I might do that.

The scales and back spacer are CNC machined from laminated G10.
This is very nice work. I'd love some scales for my Delica and Dragonfly but the price is probably prohibitive.
I wish I could make my own.

I notice the DF being too short whenever I slice my orange at work. A wee bit longer would be nice.

Re: Me...The Ouroboros...And Others...

Everyone has their value benchmark. If you play that mind game with yourself you can talk yourself into or out of anything... "Gosh I really like the Delica but for $70 I could also buy 5 Opinel No. 9's" "Gosh I really like the Sebenza but for $410 I could almost buy 3 Delica Titanium/Damascus" And...
